Excellent advice...thank you all. To answer a few of the responses....it is a new battery, installed by a Ferrari dealer, that's why I am a bit miffed at the loss of juice. I haven't checked the "short" idea, but I will once the weather improves....I live in NY and currently have a few inches of snow with temp. below 30. And "yes", the car is garaged. Again, thank you for your advice.

A good way to check if you have a short is to disconnect the ground side of the Battery. Then put a Volt meter in between the cable and the battery terminal.
If it reads Zero then the circuit is good. Then in all probability the battery is the problem. (If over 3 years old).
If you read +12 then there is a short.
Start pulling fuses until it reads Zero and the fuse you pulled is the problem component. And the "average" life of a car battery is 3 to 4 or 5 Max years, any more is just luck and where you live (warm weather).

My own 328 can sit for 2 months without loosing significant power. Did you have the battery checked as suggested? Even if the fluid level is OK, one of the cells could be collapsed. On my BMW I fitted a new original (BMW name) battery. Six months later it was a goner. Second one lasted for 8 months. Third one is running now on the second year. Normally you can expect 5-7 years of service from a standard battery. Typical dying signs are as you describe, unable to keep charge.

If your battery is draining every week, you have a short somewhere. I emphasise somewhere. Hard to say what's the cause, are you experiencing any other problem when you do get to drive the car? Is it a servicable battery (ie: top covers to add more water)? Maybe the water level is low. Lots of possibilities here.

I have a 1989 328 GTS, but the battery goes every week. I tried connecting a "Battery Tender Plus", but to no avail. Does anyone have a "Battery Tender Plus", and if so, tell me how you connected it (I'm using the attached leads and not the alligator clips). Are there better alternatives or products I can buy, install and rely on for a full charge every week? If so, pls let me know.
