JMB Competition won the FIA N-GT-series (approx 400-425 hp) this year with a 360 Modena. Rydell and Menu drove few races in a Prodrive 550 Maranello in the FIA GT-series (approx 600-650 hp). They won a couple of races and beat up a lot of Vipers and prototypes. This season was a test for next year. Ciao Peter |

Ferrari returning to sportscar- and GT-racing would be a dream becoming true. But nothing has been decided yet. At the moment Procar is still planning with the Ferrari 550. If the work will come with a 550 Procar won't continue. For Luca di Montezemolo the target seems to be an engagement at the 24 Hous of Le Mans 2004 under the name of Maserati - what a pity - Ferrari really sounds much better. But the latter will be a prototyp for the overall-win and perhaps for the American Le Mans Series. We have to wait and see - first Michael Schumacher will clinch his next F1 Worldchampionship for Ferrari ! Thomas |

Here's what Babelfish did with that text: -Ben The Ferrari returns in the GT The clamorous return of the Ferrari in the championship is outlined Great Tourism. To convince the Little horse to return in the series they have been the recent modifications brought to the regulations from part of the Fia (prohibited the prototypes and reduced the modifications) that they have convinced the leaders of Maranello. The appointment is fixed for 21 April to Monza, with the 550 Maranello. The pilot who will follow close gives the development of the car will be Luca Badoer, already tester official of the machine champion of the world: Veneto pilot will take care itself of the official tests. In passed the Ferrari one attempted positively in classified championships to the production cars: the 250 (Testarossa, GTO, Berlinetta, LM), have conquered the titles of the 24 Hours of the Mans, of the 12 Hours of Sebring, Targa Florio and the 1000 km of Monza and Nurburgring. |

What it basically says below is that Ferrari is officially jumping into GT series next April with the 550 Maranello. I guess some recent changes to rules with FIA that restricts the amount of modifications to a car and not allowing Sport Prototypes that convinced Ferrari to get back into the swing of things. My guess that this will be for Europe only? Not sure. |
