Thank for all the responses...I feel quite comfortable with them. I'll post back here and update everyone on the process.

Scott, I have bought five Ferraris from Motorcars and feel as if you have no reason to be wary of them. All were delivered as per our agreement and actually looked better than I had expected and with no suprises. If you would like to know more about them, just let me know.

If you're really concerned about the transaction, you could use www.escrow.com to hold your money until approval-- cost should be less than $500.00. You write the "contract" and you both approve. Escrow.com holds the money(including the $5K down) until you say so. You could also check with the Better Business Bureau about complaints but that doesn't always tell anything. Satisfied customer's words are the best.

I have never used MotorCars International but I have seen many of their ads. I also read somewhere that they will actually ship it to you and refund all your money if not satisfied with the car. I did not believe it, but failed to pursue more information. So, is it true that there are no hidden costs for an unsuccessful transaction? Who pays for the shipment back to them if you are not satisfied with the car? Please advise if you know, or eventually complete this transaction. I live in California and I will probably have to go through the same process if I commit to one of their cars.

Thanks,

Caribe.

I have found a 1987 328GTS that I am going to purchase from MotorCars International. I would like to know ,since I'm not a lawyer, of anything that I should be aware in the purchase agreement. The deal is contingent upon a 3rd party mechanical & visual inspection. The car is in MO and I am in Colorado. I have the Mechanic all lined up to look at the car. So am all set there. I am just a little concerned that I'll miss something in the contract and end up with the car no matter what. They are looking for a $5000 deposit to hold the car and begin the 30000mile service. When the car is ready to ship they require the entire amount which will be refunded if I do not approve of the car. I'd appreciate any hints on what to look for in the contract to make sure it is legit.
Thanks!
