Be careful with Morpheus. I was recently employed by a company doing P2P and in the process of doing some competitive analysis, Morpheus messed up a couple of machines we were using. Some of those P2P sites can be hazardous to your PC.

The best thing to do, instead of finding and ftp site and getting an ftp client to download and all that blah blah blah, is to do some cool peer to peer file sharing amongst members. For example, we all can share video files through Morpheus. All we need to do is download the client at http://www.musiccity.com Then do a search for video files available from other peoples hard drives. As of right now I found some cool video clips from Japan with a track race between and F40 and a Veilside Toyota Supra Turbo, and a quarter mile drag between a 360 and a 996 Turbo. Also, we can post our user names in this forum so we can download files from specific users....thing is, since its all about bandwidth, cable modem or DSL or any other high speed connection (T3 anyone LOL) is best.
What do you all think?
BTW I LOVED THAT VIDEO from the Cavallino club of France, especially how the engines resonated in the tunnels!!!!

Thanks Aaron, I know us fellow FerrariChat members will greatly appreciate you using your PC as the host. When the setup is complete, let us know how to attach.

Again, Thanks!

Hey Rob, is anyone around Dallas game for what? Do you want to mount your camera and follow me down the on ramp? :-) My answer to that would be Hell Yes!

Rob I would love to see that! How about a compilation video of Ferrarichat members and their cars (preferably with the cars moving :))? Sell it for a few bucks.

Mr Dixon,
Check your email sir. It would be much easier to use my machine for the hosting than set your machine up. I am setting it up as we speak, it will be publically available for FerrariChat members to upload new files/videos for all of us to view.

ask Bill Pierce over at www.nsxsc.com - he posts a lot of his vids on jeepoutfitters - I suppose his other site or someone else that lends him space and bandwidth. The vids are then streamed via Real Media files.

Ok guys....heres the deal.

The other 3 videos are 60 megs each.
I have a cable modem, and can send them via ICQ or MSN messenger. Even though I am a computer science major at university, my ftp knowledge is deplorable. Is there any other way to send the files? Perhaps I can share my folder and one of you whizzy, computer nerds can download them directly.

Aaron Kappler.... What do you have in mind?? I have no problem with you helping me set up my computer to be an ftp server, but unless it is very straight forward, you will most likely become frustrated with my poor computer skills.

I do have a cd burner, perhaps I could burn them and send them to somebody who would be willing to host them.

Any suggestions???

I'm already getting close to my current limit of 350 mb for this site, but I'm calling later this week to get more space, it's expensive, so I would prefer someone put these on their site for now.

I love the video! I've got the camera and a roll cage camera mount that I may be able to clamp on my roof spoiler. I think that would be cool to have an above shot looking forward where you can see the driver, front, and of course the mic is right over the engine. Anyone around Dallas game?

I'll at least do it next year for the track events I attend. I love showing people my in car SCCA racing tapes. I have about 12 hours of film from this past summer and I've put the highlights on a 15 minute video called "And Rob Walked Away".

I would be more than happy to host on my T1 connection. Send me an email with your info at [email protected] or reply here with your aol screen name. I could also set up an ftp account for you, which would be the most efficient way. Let me know.

James, is there those other three files can be provided to Rob Lay and he can post them from this site?

I glad you liked the video.

I really dont know anything about the videos, other than they were shot in Paris (as somebody already mentioned). Apparantly, it was a local Ferrari club out for their Sunday cruise.

There are 4 videos in total, which I downloaded from a site (which has been shutdown) but the one link I put up here was the one remaining video link that worked.

The others are a little bigger, I think 60 megs in size and appear to be more footage from the day. I dont believe email can handle big files like that, but I do have a cable modem so if anybody wants to transfer them via ICQ or MSN messenger, I am fair game. Then perhaps one of you guys can post them on a website for all to enjoy.

Let me know what you think.

PS I just watched the first one about 20 times in a row.

The car in the middle (camera car) is a F355. The airconditioning vents, rounded side view mirrors, and the F1 paddle shift transmission are the clues. I have seen 348's with rounded side view mirrors, but the F1 paddle shift in the video means it has to be a 355.

Great video!!!

James,

I'm curious if you can tell us anything about this film? What country are they in? When was it filmed?

I believe the camera car is a 355. Thanks for the link, and can't wait to see more...

James, please post the other videos on the web, if at all possible. Most ISPs will not allow e-mails of that size. I also think the car taking the video is a 355 from the quick view of the engine cover grill and rear spoiler.
James Dixon (Omnadren250)
Posted on Monday, November 26, 2001 - 1:21 pm:

BobD.....

Was that a 348 in the middle (the car with the camera)??? For some reason I thought it was a 355, but I dont have any solid proof to back that up.

Also, I have the other 4 parts to this video on my computer, they are even more insane than the one posted. If anybody likes, I could try sending them to you as I have a cable modem.

Kinda gives you that Rendezvous sensation, which would be my favorite Ferrari, non-documentary film. Favorite Ferrari Video of all Time:

As I watched and listened to the file, I am reminded of my weekend job (a corner worker at Virginia International Raceway) and listening to my friend Paul's 355 Challenge car go screaming down the one of the back straights this past weekend. There is simply no other sound like it in the world...simply music...simply awesome!

Yep... that was damn good. I've got a cable modem and it took me at least 10 minutes to download... huge file. Great stuff! Unbelievable to see the F50 pulling away from the 348 (in car camera) like it was standing still! And the 328 trying its best to keep up too. Only one quick shot of the TR.
