I thought of the auto train, 300 mile drive from my house to Virginia, then 200 miles Orlando to Palm Beach. But the price is right, as long as they don't have some $6.00/hour high school kid loading the cars. Glad to hear other Ferraris have used auto train without mishap.

I would rent my own trailer and just leave it down there for the week if anyone else from the area wants to share it. I think they get about 4 cars on, so savings could be huge-anyone else interested?

i CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY CHARGE THAT MUCH ON A HIGH TRADDIC ROUTE LIKE NY TO SO FLORIDA. THEY SHOULD DO THAT FOR MUCH LESS. BIG TIME SCREW IF YOU ASK ME.
HOW ABOUT RENTING A WHOLE TRUCK FROM THEM AND THEN GET SOME MORE CHATTERS TOGETHER. WILLIAM NEEDS TRANSPORT TOO RIGHT?

The Auto Train runs between Lawton, VA(Washington DC area) and Sanford, FL (Orlando area). We have taken it three times and have had good luck. My recommendation is to spend the money to get a compartment so you don't have to sit up all night. We got a number of FCA folks together to go up to the Annual Meets in Washington and had a great time on the train. Getting a group together is the key to a fun ride.

Unfortunately Solly, those prices are about right. In fact, the $850 is the cheapest I have ever seen from New York to Palm Beach for an enclosed transport. Hope you find something.

Amtrak Car train from DC to Orlando is about $400 round trip. Not sure if they also leave from the NY area. Never used it so I can't really comment on the ride. Good luck.

I got the following quotes from the 3 firms recommended by Cavallino, for transport of my car from Westchester County, NY to Palm Beach (prices are 1 way)

Horseless Carriage: $1,000
Intercity: $850
Passport: $1250
(big differential)

Anyone find a better price?
