Ferrari has 27,597 of which 15,047 I put on in 2 1/2 years. I have a 1988 Saab 900S -- excellent shape (looks like my Ferrari) -- 165,700 miles and no signs of needing to rebuild yet (I drive it hard and only replaced my first clutch at 130,000). 1988 Volvo 240DL , excellent shape also 114,300 miles and no sign of a rebuild needed either. |

I got my 83 308QV in august of 2000 with 48k on it. It now has a little over 53k. I drive it as much as I can. I own a pizza shop and have even delivered a pizza in it. The nasty weather is about here in Indy now so I am pretty much done for the season. Come on SPRING! |

35,523 miles. I've owned the 348ts for 1 1/2 years. I bought it with 23,523 miles on it. 13,000 miles in 18 months driving weekends shows how much I drive it. Most every weekend I'm out running around in the Ferrari. I plan to have this car a long time and will probably rebuild the engine one day. I do not plan for a rebuild to take place before 8 more years with at least 140,000 miles on the car. There is only one thing that would make me part with this car.... If I was trading up to a 360 Barchetta! Since I am an average middle class guy, I don't think a trade up is ever going to happen. I think my 348ts is one of the finest Ferrari cars on the road and I drive the sh!t out of it every chance I get! Dan |

My 87 328 has 41k as of last week. It had 38k when I bought it 3.5 months ago. Damn Bob, I've done in 3 mos what it took you 3 years to do. Maybe that explains why your car looks as good as it does! |

I just turned over 16,000 miles on my 1994 348 Spider. It had 10,600 miles in January 2001. |

My 84 308QV has 43,500 and runs fine. I strongly believe that because the two previous owners of my car did exceptional maintenance, my car probably has the majority of the problems worked out (plus I have the receipts to prove it...). |

36k (miles) on my TR. Seen with my own eyes: Nick Scianna's 308 with 180k+ (miles). Heard about an 86TR in the LA area with 260k (miles). -Ben |

I sold my ex-308 at 130K miles, but I did refresh the top end at 100K miles (although I probably should have done it at 90K miles). IMHO the longevity of a F engine is not remarkably different than most others (if used quasi-daily, not abused, regularly serviced, and you're willing to put up with some minor problems like some oil weeping): top end = 80~100K miles bottom end = ~150K miles So although a good youthful example (5~10 years old) with 50~60K miles will probably run A-OK out to 90~100K miles, I feel it is proper that the "fair" price at the 50~60K mile point be reduced to account for these inevitable future repairs (something like 50~60% of the top end cost + 30~35% of the bottom end cost). As the age goes up the risk is even greater that these repairs would be needed sooner so the "discount" should be larger (just ask Peter R. about that). |

If a 308 was maintained properly it will exceed 100K easily. Most of the time these higher mileage cars will have all of the problems worked out. |

Mine has 33,050 this morning. Bought it with 21,950 1 1/2 years ago. I have heard of cars with 150,000 Miles and more. There was a great article in a magazine about a guy in France that drove his 308GT4 I think over 200K Miles. Also a daily driver. He describes how little breaks on his car and when and where he had to do what. Very interesting. And very discouraging to keep you car in the garage for Sunday drives. |

There are too many variables and types of engines to generalise, but a well maintained ferrari engine 8 or 12, should go at least 100 - 120 k without rebuild. Ferrari engines are supposed to be bulletproof, but not the owners ! |

I would like to know how many miles a Ferrari engine can handle driving the way it should be. How many miles do you have on yours? I wouldn't keep a Ferrari for just for investment purposes, I would like to see just what these motors are about. I intend to put as many miles on it to see how reliable they are. Anyone seen over 100k on a Ferrari motor without a rebuild?. I see too many low mileage ones and it's hard to realize a person would spend a lot of money on one and not drive one often, so why talk of more of a daily commuter when you walk more than you put miles on one? Unless you have too many exotics to drive but that isn't the reality for most of us. Well, I'm going out for a drive again C-YA... |
