Hey chicago: Saw your inquiry on the euro 348. I am in CA, not quite europe, but i am considering selling my 91 348 (8,000 miles) perfect condition, around 55-60k. Its not currently listed anywhere. i've just fallen in love with a 355 spyder. Im in no hurry but if you have interest for more info you can contact me directly at [email protected] |

I went to that site too. I was a bit disappointed with them once before. Before I got my GT4, I was looking for any italian car, Abarth, Fiat, Lancia, etc... One of my choices was the Lancia Montecarlo, so I emailed them if they knew any for sale and if they exported to Canada. I asked for this because they could locate cars that they did not have and arrange overseas shipping. Well, I never heard back from them. I guess a Montecarlo isn't too much of an exotic sports car for them, or maybe they weren't interested, or...? It doesn't matter now because I love my GT4. I've learnt from this experience, It can be a hassle to import a car from another country. |

I think an older average 348 goes for about $55k in the United States and I've seen them at around $40k in Europe. I checked that website out but I don't know the conversion rate to get the exact price. |

The strong dollar and the weak euro has reaped benefits for brokers and exporters to reintroduce grey market cars in this country making european cars cheaper. One catch about the 360 from what I hear is that yes the 360 Euro version is quite similar to the US version, but FNA will not recognize euro-version 360's as certified cars, and will NOT honor any warranty and authorized dealers may even have the option of refusing to service a Euro 360 in this country.. After all, why should dealers make the lives of exporters any easier for selling euro 360's $50k cheaper than what U.S. model versions are selling for at the dealer. |

I really don't know exactly why the Euro models are cheaper. Here is my guess... Strong American Market - We can actually afford Ferraris now and are pushing the market up here. This happened in the late 80's when Ferrari prices went through the roof and money could be made bringing cars over. It's even easier to bring cars over now because there's not a big difference between the Euro and American models. As far as I know, the lights are the only difference on the 360. |

There's a guy in Italy that always has 10-20 ads in the Ferrari Market letter at cheap to America prices. I sent an e-mail to him once and never heard back. I noticed he hasn't advertised in FML for a few issues now. His name is Gary Drenik, Venice, Italy [email protected], +39-339-6126177, fax +39-438-415519. |
