shipping cars doesnt' cost that much. a friend of mine paid ~900 to ship from Florida to Texas - and that's quite a bit of distance in an enclosed trailer. I'd offer my own self to fly out there and fetch the car for you, but it would be cheaper to get someone to pick it up for you. Thing is... inspect it, have it inspected beforehand to make sure you are getting what you are supposed to be getting. Financing autos - I highly recommend local credit unions for the best rates and lack of hassling with loan officers, since they are there as a service and not for commission. But have someone there with you, hopefully a lawyer. |

Call the police and report your car as stolen. No kidding. That will motivate them in a hurry. |

Get a lawyer. Before you let this deal get any more screwed up, you need a lawyer to sort this out. Didn't you sign a contract with the NC dealer showing your BMW on trade? Who are you buying this car in Florida from? I would think that the NC dealer would buy the car in Florida, then sell it to you. Who holds the titles to all these cars? Get a lawyer and hope that the finance guy hasn't disappeared on you. Also, why would you buy a car from someone you've never met, sight unseen? After all you have gone through what do you think the chances are that this used Mercedes in Florida will be perfect? I hope for your sake that the NC dealership is reputable, because this deal is just too bad to be believed. A lawyer can help if you have to sue to recover your car or money. Also, lawyers are very good at alerting the local authorities if fraud is suspected. Good luck. |

Here is my dillema. Back in June i went to a local dealership to trade in my 2000 BMW 323I for a 2000 Mercedes clk320 which the dealer didnt have at that time but told me he could locate one easily. I agreed and gave him my car to put on his lot to sell as thought i woud be getting my car pretty soon. I dealt with 2 guys thecar dealership owner and the finance guy. The finance guy isnt a fulltime worker as he lives inFlorida and the dealership is in North Carolina so he is at the dealership sometimes but not all the time. At the time i handed them my car i gave them a deposit of $2000 to help which they told me would be enough. The finance guy then went back to Florida on business taking my loan application papers with him so the owner couldnt help me in any way. It took him aproximately 2 months to arrive at the dealership again where he was all enthuiastic about the deal and told me the finance company needs more money as my credit isnt perfect. So i gave him $8000 extra. A few days later he said the loan went through and i should be getting my papers to sign in a few days. He told me that th car i was getting was located in Florida ad was perfect in every way. So a few days after that i received my papers to sign with the car info on it and everything looking the way it should so i signed it and sent it back to the Florida finance company. Onthe forms it said that my BMW had been paid off and eveytng was ready to go. Since i was dealing with the finance guy the dealer was basically out of the picture as they were working together but seperate. So after this the finance guy goes to Florida again to help ship my car t me in NC and because he and the Dealership owner fell out. It has been at least a month now and i still dont have the car as he says that he can not find a guy to truck it up here for me and it will cost me about $2000 to send it up here on a courier truck. Also he now tells me that the dealership owner never paid of the BMW and itis still in my name wich means i have 2 cars in my name which i dont have but have the bills for. I am out of 2 cars which i am paying for and $10,000. What can i do? Thanx Chris |
