It's great if a girl likes exotic cars because of how fast they are, or the performace of the car on the track. What I can not stand is the "it's cute" crap. Puke, if thats what you want go get the new bettle. Big prop's to the ladies that track their cars. The reason guys look weird at a girl with a Ferrari is the same reason that they would look weird at a girl that boxes in the ring. It always has been a guy thing. Non of this fake aerobic kick boxing junk, hey anyone can fight the air and win, lol. Now if the chick can fight in the ring and kick a** and she is still a lady, thats one cool chick. Same goes for the Ferrari if she drives a Ferrari like it's stolen , oh yeah she's got my tumbs up.

I wish I had all the bikes I had from 30 years ago LOL! Most would be very valuable today.

Occasionally there will be a 305 Scrambler show up on EBAY. Mostly you will see Super Hawks or 305 Dreams though. Boy, I am about to tell my age.

Hi Nika & Tim,
Thanks for the compliment on my car, Nika. I don't get to any motocross races anymore. Used to go to the supercross races here in San Diego and in LA but it's been years. I guess it's a combination of my husband's work schedule, us having a son with his activities and just not knowing many racers these days. Back when Rick Johnson, Jeff Matasievch, and others were top riders, my husband knew them all thru his business so we'd attend.
Tim, sorry but that bike is pretty early so I'm not familiar with what one would be worth. I've tried to find a Honda value guide with no success. Do you have one?

I'd be lying if I said I know about wines. But I have a few favorites - Quiterelli & Tignanello. The 1995's seem to be the best......Quiterelli "Alzero" is liquid gold, and very hard to find.

Great taste in wine Nika ( I assume "fine Amarone" in your profile was referring to wine)!! Almost nothing beats a 1990 Amarone or 1983 Zenato.

A great model shop in Toronto (It's a vinyl sticker to cover the glue residue from the plaque I had there before) Prestige is the shop's name - they are under my links section off of www.racerchicks.com.

Any idea what an unrestored '66 Honda 305 Scrambler might sell for?

Yeah I know...I joined then I dumped you guys. Sorry bout that but I just started my own business and it's been pretty hectic. It's me Sandra. I own the '84 308GTS in prugna/tan and there's some photos on the site somewhere. Yes I get the "so your husband let's you drive his car?" comments quite a bit. Grrrrr....it's mine darnit!! LOL I'm quite impressed by female race car drivers. I begged my parents when I was 13 to let me enter the powder puff motocross races but they refused. I still ride and now collect, vintage Honda off road motorcycles. Latest find: 1971 SL100 with 370 original miles...still has the paper dealer tag on back!!

Speaking of Carol Hollfelder and TWS, I was intrigued by her control setup and was looking forward to seeing/hearing the 355 go around the track. Much to my disappointment, that didn't happen. Afterwards while I was walking through the paddock I stopped by to ask what happened. Carole wasn't around but somebody mentioned a broken head. The first thought that flashed through my mind was "Oh no! Is the alright? Did they take her to a hospital?" LOL.

CART is a public company - trades NYSE "mph" =symbol If you check out any of their SEC filings you'll think it's run by monkeys. They just brought in a new guy.(forgot his name Poot or something???) Got rid of their last guy in a year and Andrew Craig, the boss before, well he ran the company with ego instead of common sense.

Their stock is close to the 52 week low too.

Cart had better get someone to drive in it's series because they are about to loose their best teams and engines.

Oh please not the Hooters pix - it's bad enough with all the track fluff and pit biscuits out there!!!!!!!

Posted on Thursday, December 13, 2001 - 5:44 pm:

Thank you

CART has the PPG pace car team - all women. They are a great bunch - the program has been around for a few years I know that.

I have an office job to pay for the toys but I use up all my time going to races. Monza in 1999, Budapest 1992 - This year Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Mosport...oh gawd - I can go on & on. Mostly ALMS in 2001. Geeez I flew tooo many red-eyes too

um....how does one post a pix - I have a great shot of that Barchetta I got to drive!!!!!

Posted on Thursday, December 13, 2001 - 5:37 pm:

Nika,
Are you involved with CART at all? The reason I ask is that this year at the Milwaukee event there were a group of women drivers giving fans the chance to do a lap or two on track prior to the event. I guess I hadn't noticed that before at CART events. I would assume you/they travel with cart and do that at all the events? Nice to have you here.

Dilly - I love that reaction. Send me an e-mail - I can send you some racerchicks.com gear. You can't buy it - I give it away to racerchicks.

This is a paragraph of an article I'm writing:
It was a black tie event I decided to go to "solo". For simplicity's sake I valet my car - which in turn, meant it was left out front. At the end of the evening I walked out of the building to see a small group of men getting some fresh air (or should I say having a cigarette break) and hovering around the car. As I approached I could hear them comment. "Looks like a 1983 - These are 12-cylinders right?" (1985 -308)I looked at their ring-leader and exclaimed "what a pretty car". His smug response was "It's a Ferrari". I nicely gleamed back and purred "I know" as I put my key in the door. The look on his face was priceless - and the bellowing laughter from his friends was heard for miles as I drove off. It was then I decided to investigate further how female exotic car owners were treated and the attitudes they faced.

I am writing my finders bloody and here is a whole new conversation...darn.
I will just copy and paste:

Nika;
I hope I speak for all here, welcome to FerrariChat. We have lost out First Lady to the chaps Down Under and have never since been able to replace her properly. Although Dina still lurks in every once in a while we would like to see more female participation and as true Ferraristi, we know what you are talking about.

Hope you join us for more discussions.

BTW, nice website, cute photo and I just love your name: Nika. Something between Niki and Lauda. Just kidding scandinavian, right?

Hi Nika,
I have visited your site and think it's great. You should see the looks my husband gets when he tells guys that I am the track driver in our family!! My current track car is a 355 and in the past year have purchased slicks for track use. What a difference. At the last track event I was able to keep up with some of the challenge cars. Keep up the good work with your web site!
Nika Rolcze (Racernika)
Posted on Thursday, December 13, 2001 - 3:42 pm:

Thank you - I know - I deal with that some times when at the track.....I think I can handle it. As long as people understand I'm NOT looking for a date - I am a fanatical Ferrari fan......my dog is even named after a former Ferrari driver. (I think he won more times driving Maserati though) 2 pts if you can guess...

If I knew how to upload pix - I'd show you my Halloween pumpkin which had the emblem carved out. If Enzo had an illegitimate daughter - she'd be me :)

Posted on Thursday, December 13, 2001 - 3:29 pm:

Nika,
There were a couple of other Ferrari women here, but...

Well, there tends to me some chauvinistic comments made. OK, a lot of them, but we forget you are reading, too. And sometimes we're just idiots. Oh yeah, condescending comments, too. And, uh, well you get the idea. Heck, Dina sold her car!

Please just roll your eyes, grimace and let out a gutteral "MEN", but stay with us. You really are welcome here.

LOL
gosh - my picture reminds me of a bad glamour shot - the kind you see on every used car salesman's desk!

There's another super female racer - Sylvia Oberti - she runs the Mille Miglia and she does it SOLO. Now that's a race I'd LOVE to try! But how easy is it to get a pre-1957 vehicle that would be competitive and affordable.....

I've met Carol and talked with her through e-mail a few times. She is really cool. I enjoyed meeting Carol and her dad at the Texas Motor Speedway World Challenge race earlier this year. I think they had problems with a cracked head, so I only saw the prancing horse run a few laps in practice. For those that don't know, you'll see her dad quite a bit on Speedvision, racing his classic Ferraris. He has something like a 512 or 312.

oh my gawd......OLD PICTURE!

Put a pix of my car up instead!!!- She's the beauty!! PLEASE

Shauna is a great driver AND a super person - She's also a spokesperson for Racing for The Rainbow Children's charity.

Leilani is also a talented racer - she's moving east for Winston Cup dreams - I know she'll do great!

Hey - remember there are women that race Ferraris too - Sarah Wahl & Carol Hollfelder

I hate to admit but since I'm such a Ferrari-nut it's hard to write stories about anything but. The Ferrari couches were REALLY cool - what will they think of next!!??
