Ed, You are right, Ferrari should include that in every tool kit as a standard tool.

Thanks guys. It is an inspection light which is nowhere mentioned in the manual. It plugs in right under the dash on the drivers side and has a magnetic strip on the back. Probably very handy if yo9u have to change a fuse at night.

I think it is an Anal Probe used when the Ferrari Dealer burns you a new one.

Russ,

In my 308 GTB owner's manual it's called an "Inspection Light" and is pictured in the glove compartment. Mine is in a black vinyl pouch.

It is a trouble light. There are a couple of them for sale on ebay in Ferrari Parts if you want to see some pictures.

Sounds like a "trouble light." There should be a plug, perhaps in the driver side under-dash area. Plug it in there and the light comes on. The metal piece is magnetic so you can stick it on something to provide light without having to hold it.

Not sure if it's ever useful, but for completeness in the list of things that's supposed to be with my 308, I acquired one (thanks, George P.).

In the trunk of the 328 that I recently bought there is a device that has a long electrical cord with some kind of electrical pluon one end which is round with a male end and what looks to be a light at the other end. At the back of the light fixture is a metal device. It has the Ferrari prancing horse so I know it is a Ferrari part but it is not described anywhere in the manuals. Any help?
