james, heres a suggestion. in the uk, front plates are mandatory on every car, so on plate-unfriendly fronts, some people have a sticker made that looks exactly like the plate and stick it on. you can always take it off and you don't have to drill any holes.

James the Ferrari part # for the front licence plate bracket is 20108205 . It mounts just below the grill in the center. If your car came without it you would need to drill 2 holes for sheetmetal screws to mount it. If you can't find one it is easy to fabricate yourself or go with the wire approach but make sure you use chrome wire it looks nicer.

I have a Euro 308, there is no front license plate holder. Maybe I should get some wire and tie wire it on the grill or mickey mouse some bracket to mount the damn license plate on.

There was a story in the paper once about a person who was arrested for putting money in peoples expired parking meters. They were told to stop but continued to do so and were arrested for it!

We really don't have many meters in Kansas City, but as for no front license plate (which we are technically supposed to have), I have a standard answer. This has worked on the one occasion I tried it...

Officer / Sir, I notice that you don't have a front license plate on your car.

Me / Officer, if you had a Ferrari would you put a plate on the front of it?

I still got the speeding ticket.

Well, in Chicago I don't worry about my front plate. It's the extortion you have to worry about here. City sticker: $70 ($90 if you buy it late, and tickets are $50 per). Neighborhood zone parking sticker: $30 ($50 ticket). So, with that little money-making system, they don't care too much about your plates. As far as the parking meters, they recently doubled the meter rates and knocked the parking fines up to $50! On top of that, 4 fines and you get Das Boot. It's a great place to live and visit, just don't drive here!

This is not a ferrari talk but.... I was parking my BMW DINAN M5 in front of attorney's office for a meeting. It was only for 1 hour. When I tried to go home, I found a ticket for "No front plate". I have been there many times and it was the first time I got a ticket!!! Thanks SF police dep. for 101 bucks parking charge.

ross, same thing happened to me in princeton, nj.i took my tr out, while my wife went shopping i went across the street to buy a soda, not knowing you had to put money in the meter on sunday, i saw a "parking enforcement agent" standing next to my car.I ran across the street and saw the meter was up, as i was going to ask the attendent to give me a brake, he said" my friend i would not even want to touch this car with placing a ticket on it"
moral of the story.. yes there are some respectful and nice "parking nazis" out there...

the parking nazis (as i call them) in london, are a private company and, although they deny it, are paid on a commission basis. so they give tickets out as fast as they can write them, and often agressively, like waiting next to the meter until it clicks overtime and issuing the ticket immediately, calling your tires 2 inches over the line etc. and they are expensive- $60 to 120. however, all this being said, i once had just struggled the 512tr into a spot, and the residence parking was another 10 minutes away from kicking in, and the meter guy just happened to walk up my direction so i asked him if he woudl give me 10 minutes grace, and lo and behold he said 'in that car, you can have as much time as you like - wouldn't want to give you a ticket'. so every so often you do come across a decent meter person.

the meter lady was probably jealous..you know..she see's a car she can never have the finiancial means to aquire..she doesnt like the idea of that..so she says "oh well i will show you" and gives u a ticket..i bet no other cars have tickets there :-(

I know its a shallow thing to say but i bet that if u had your X5 there she wouldnt of done a thing
