Bret, the worst part is that it will start happening more and more as you get older.

Greg's right, I was just talking about US QVs when I said that which is dumb because I was talking about the 208 which is almost all European. Damn I'm getting old, things are starting to slip by me.

Paul;
putting a Fiero V6 2.8L in your car will not affect your resale value. You should still be getting top Fiero price $$$ for your car! :)

According to Original Ferrari V8, the GTS/GTB carb cars had body coloured front radiator louvers, same for GTBi and GTSi, except for 208 Turbos, they were painted matt black. When the QV, came, Euro QVs had body coloured front louvers, US cars were painted matt black.

The 208 Turbo and QVs were the only 308 cars with black front louvres from the factory. Others years/styles were all body color.

Paul, don't put a 2.8 fiero engine in your 308.
Put a diesel VW engine :-)

The absolute best trim paint I have ever used as far as color and application goes is made by Spray Max and is called Trim Paint. It comes in a rattle can and the color you want is called Satin Black. It is about $10.00/can but worth every penny. You will probably have to go to an auto paint store. Jerry

I think it makes a very nice contrast as well. Mine were painted black before I purchased my 308. I am wondering though when the paint fades what is a good paint to use to repaint them?

Not sure about the "earlier" 308 models, but my 85 308 QV has factory painted all black louvers (front and rear) -- which, IMHO, creates a nice contrast.

That was my next question, I want to know how to put a 2.8 fiero engine in my 308. Is it going to affect my resale value?

IMHO they look best in black and Rich is right, you're not going to decrease it's resale, I mean it's not like you're doing something stupid like...um...putting an American V8 in it! Wouldn't it be funny if someone started a thread on that topic that got everyone all upset and the thread went on... and on... and on!! LOL. Jerry

I saw an original 79 in "original ferrari v8" with black louvers and others in body colour. Some other road test reports from the 70's show painted. I think they look better in black.

I thought the front vents on all 308s were painted black until the QV model.

Bob is correct. I have seen many painted black. I don't think it hurts the value of the car in anyway if they are painted black.

They should be body color, the only ones black from the factory were the 208 Turbo.

My 79 308 GTB has been painted in the past and I was wondering if the front air extractors should be body colour as they are right now. Ive seen them in black and body colour the same year as mine. The car is silver. The deck lid louvers are black.
Thanks, Paul.
