Chris: Stonegaurd works great. there is also a product called ultrashield made by 3M. about $800. for the F40 and they will custom make it for the car and cover all road rash problem areas. I have stone gaurd on the 360 and it works great. stone gaurd has very very very very thick pieces for the headlights, about an 1/8". cant go wrong with either one and either will come off easily and not damage the paint. I was going to have some installed on the F40 last week and decided that for the money of the stone gaurd, how often the car is drove and the cost to repaint the problem areas, I decided not to do it. it can be unsightly as well. depends on the lines of the car. on the F40, not attractive |

Andrew, REAL FERRARI's HAVE ROAD RASH! lol well, I am not sure I have a solution. I have been impressed with this clear film that that I have seen on a lot of 360's. I know it isn't cheap or permanent but it does seem to work. I have a speedlingere bra for my F355, works great, never use it, so it doesn't work. (if you know what I mean). The F40 gets road rash in so many areas i am not too concerned. The only way to prevent it is not to drive it, not an option for me. I am as big a Ferrari Fanatic as anyone on this site, but I am sure that I would offend some Ferrari owners if they saw my cars on any given day. My cars are driven regulary, including the F40, therefore they usually are dirty. (brake dust, dead bugs etc.) It is not practical for me to wash it every time I drive it. I do love my cars and try to pamper as much as possible. Every 2 months I have the cars detailed by Matt Vesey (he does incredable work) He takes the car apart, wheels off, seats out, wheel wells and undercarriage cleaned, he takes about 24-30 hours to clean and polish. When I get it back, I hit the road again, dead bugs and all! A dirty Ferrari is a happy Ferrari! I drive and enjoy and let the stone chips fall as they will! Chris |

By the way, if you see this Chris, Cabo was great. The only place we didn't get to was The Trailer Park--just not enough time. But we're going back in August. Thanks for the suggestions. |
