I'm not sure about the trunk being as quite big. They put a golf bag in there for the Maserati introduction party. The fit was perfect. Problem was, and many of us at the party thought, where are the clubs? The trunk is simply not wide enough to accomodate the golf bag PLUS the clubs. That kinda put a damper on using the Coupe as a golf car. I guess you could put the clubs in the back seat.

missed this thread when i posted mine this monring. so here is a reprint of my impressions:
couple of friends and i got to drive the new 4200gt this weekend at a local dealer. we all came away with similar views from driving 5 different cars. the manual shifter was extremely difficult to get into 2nd gear on a downshift. the clutch pedal had far too much travel. the throttle-by-wire system is exceptionally sensitive, so that when you come off the throttle it just drops instantly. the steering is a bit over boosted. the brakes are very good. the build quality in general was excellent. the ergonomics are great - now i understand why it looks so bulbuous in back, there is a real back seat for normal sized adults, and the trunk is quite big. on the cambiocorsa, i found the system a little difficult to get used. i think you need a few hundred miles to get it right, but i found it jerky on upshifts even when i followed the dealer's instructions. the neat feature is that you can put it into full automatic mode which is greqat for the city.
i had always looked down on the 3200gt, and i was fully prepared to not like this car either. but it is a very well made car with a lot of guts. relatively easy to drive, and quite sporting. i think for somebody who has to have a compromise car (ie has to have room for the kids), and has to have a new car (instead of a good used one), then this is a good alternative to jags, astons, porsches.

Are you happy with your Euro 360? Would you do it again?

Martin a British Magazine (Autocar) just recently did a very good comparison of 5 convertibles Merc 500SL, Maser, BMW M3, Jaguar XKR and Porsche. They said the Maser had loads more power than any of the others (0-60 in 4.9 sec.) but the right hand drive version suffered from a lot of scuttle shake and was very nervous. They voted the Merc 500SL the best of the bunch. I would try it before deciding.

Martin,
Did you have your calipers painted? Also, I noticed on another post you had you back plate customized to fit. Will your bodyman do more custom plates? If so, I would like his number. Thanks,

Paul

Where do you test driving this Maserati. Tonkin? Is that where you bought your 360? I have been going to R.T. every two weeks or so since I was 16 just to drool. I have been trying to get a sales job there for the past year with no success yet. Maybe this fall they say. The Maserati is a nice looking car. Good Luck with your purchase if you decide that is what you want.

Just drove a 6spd spider.I am interested in the coupe but no 6 spd was available so took a spin in the spider.Handled nicely (altho didn't really have opportunity to test this aspect)steering felt even tighter than my 360 .Gear box was good-not notchy.Lots of torque and fairly quick off the mark. Only disappointment is exhaust sound which is pretty docile (sounds like a muscle car V-8).Rear trunk is very small.Overall a sweet gt car..Coming out of the 360 not really fair but didn't get my adrenaline pumping. In fact my E46 M3 is quicker and more fun but I guess that's apples and pears too.
