There is, in addition to the other attractions of Saratoga, a first rate antique bookstore housed in an old bank (and the early first editions are actually stored in the vault), as well as Hattie's Chicken Shack, which is, well, exactly what it sounds like: excellent fried chicken, peach cobbler, etc. I will actually be up there soon, to attend a lawyer convention in nearby Lake George, at the Sagamore. If the weather permits, i will drive the barchetta. |

Question--does one of the Chatters own that beautiful red Euro QV that was at Tech Day? That car really caught my eye--my hat is off to the owner! |

The show is sponsored by the Adirondack Triumph Club and is largely inhabited by Brit cars-lots of them. However, all foreign cars are welcomed and they usually reserve classs for Italian cars. It would be great to see a wave of Ferraristi converge on the scene! |

Kenny--at present i don't own an F car but am in hot pursuit of finding a 308 before the end of the summer. I have a couple of possibilities on the horizon--hopefully I'll land one of them. Re: your trips to Saratoga, you may be interested to know that a new automotive museum will be opening there very soon. It's getting a lot of hype aound here and looks to be nice attraction. Also, there is a foreign car show in Saratoga every Sept as well. Although there has not been a great Ferrari turn-out to date ( as there are few Ferraris in this neck o he woods), perhaps that can change this year. I'll inform Ferrari chatters of the event as soon as I find out the date. It's a very nice show on the grounds of Gideon Putman , an historic hotel in Saratoga. |

I just wanted to thank you guys for the kind words about my blown 308. I was honestly a little surprised to see it posted. There were so many wonderful cars, I thought mine paled in comparison. I really hasnt sure I even want to bring it, so thank you. I am always happy to answer any questions I can, I personally like talking about cars, thats why I come. I think the reason some guys other guys dont is because they simply dont know and snobbery is a face saving move. Anyway, it was a pleasure meeting all of you and thanks again. |

That supercharged 308 was a highpoint of yesterday's session. The fact that the guy did all the work himself is amazing. It looked like it rolled off the assembly plant like that. He was a very knowledgable guy and very cool at that. Answered all of my questions without an attitude. Yeah he said that that was the power it produced because he had to keep it under 400hp due to tranny limitations. When he left the supercharger whine that it emitted was simply awesome. Mad Max style. |

Tim, you'll be welcome to our area when you get to Union College next year. Be sure to keep in touch. Re: your comments on the supercharged 308--it truly is awesome and Mark E. did all of the work himself--he's quite a knowledgeable guy.By the way, he gave me the ride of my life in that buggy a few weeks ago! If I'm not mistaken, I believe he told me that it reads out approx 360 hp on the dyno. You might say that it's a bit faster than the average 308-328-etc. |

Not only did the 333SP's look awesome, they sounded awesome. Alot of Fchat guys were from the albany area. im gonna have to meet up with you guys all the time next year when im at college. Billy, I didnt talk to that guy, but from what i heard from u and bret he was a schmuck, dont let it bother you. Im sure he makes you realize how lucky u are to be cool and not a snobby bastard like him. Youre right, it was great when it was on the lift and we could see all the custom work and mods it had done to it. The guy with the supercharged 308 was really cool. He had no problem talking to billy, bret and i about the project. Let me tell you, he did one hell of a job, it looked factory. The pic of his engine was also in the tech section a few months ago. Bret, you have to post some more pics, mine suck. We really have to plan the spring meet. |

Hey, guys--it was great meeting you all yesterday at the Tech Day--what a great time! It's a great concept for WWC to bring customers together-and to engender potentilly new customers. To be surrounded by all of those wonderful cars is like heaven to me! I'm already looking forward to next year. Tim and Bret--it was nice meeting and speaking with you. |

It was great to see you guys there. It seems that all the guys that come out from this site to get togethers are all exceedingly nice people. I have yet to meet anyone from FC in person who isn't simply cool as hell. Here are some snaps of mine... 3xx Cars:
Supercharged 308:
333s (arguably the greatest sounding car in the world, right ahead of the F50, Rijk's 365, and Billy's testarossa):
550 Black on tan:
F50 (out of this world compared to any other street Ferrari IMO):

The police checkpoint right before WWoC was interesting timing, but they let me through, even without a front plate. It was nice to talk to all of you guys, I personally had a great day. But then I did not have my car inspected. I know from personal experience how depressing this can be. Also, there was a yellow 308 at WWoC, that left a few minutes before me. He was pulled over by the cops on the Northbound Palisades Parkway. I hope he did not get too much in trouble. |

No I did not meet him, but I did see him. They were selling helmets inside, I thought he just picked one up. By the way your car looks great, yellow is a real stand out color in that car. I was glad to see a few nonred Ferraris though. I thought I was the only one who preferred nonred cars. Met the guy with the F50 and he was real cool older gentleman. |

Bruce sorry I missed you as well, a fellow TR member. Unfortunately I did not show up in an Fcar, I came with my NSX. Did not think they will let me in. As for the mechanics they will try to find a million things wrong with the car so you can bring it to them to fix it. Next time there is a get together we should wear stickers on our shirts like little kids do stating we are Ferrari chat members. I only encountered one jerk while I was there, a guy with a bonestock TR with a wing and a Koenig exhaust. When I asked him what kind of exhaust he had he answered me nastily, Koenig put it on himself. Knowing that Koenigs usually are twinturboed monsters I also asked him that and he told me, It's way beyond twin turbos. If I had a rare machine like that I would be displaying to everyone with pride but this guy kept it under covers. So I waited til he put it up on the lift when they were checking cars and this thing was completely stock. He was not only a jerk but a liar as well, completely no class. There was one cool guy with a supercharged 308qv that looked awesome and as if it were stock from the factory. The guy was proud of his work as he should be, he did it himself, and the car sounded awesome when he left. |

Bruce sorry I missed you, I did not think you were coming so I did not have an eye out for you. There were quite a few f-chat members there at the time you were there. As far as the overall crowd I would say there we spacons, cafones and the rest normal people - typical f-car gathering - hey what can you do. As far as the tech inspection I was less than impressed also- my mechanic did not know how to put my car in reverse, did not know how to pop the front hood, he also could not show me where to put the oil in the air horn compressor, he did go over a few other things well though - hey what do you expect for free - sorry again I missed you. |

hey guys i was orig signed up for the classic coach tech session on sat, but due to the rain , i didnt go.instead i went to this session...i was very disapointed, first off i think alot of the people their was not friendly as well as i didnt even speak to one ferrari chat guy, i was their from 11.oo am to 1.30 pm..i met some nice people but most were very clickish and not worth my time, and especially the guy in a drivers suit carrying the helmet( another typical thinks his dont stink attitude person) i had the yellow tr their, parked right next to the red 512tr, with the 550 barchetta rims and license plate was sams 512.. the food was good, weather and cops on 59 were nice but as far as wwoc doing my car in the future, they can kiss my ass.. the girl running the inspections didnt know her ass from her elbow, they took my car in for a 15 min inspection as i was outside eating a danish and talking to someone..as i was walking towards my car, i saw my car come out of the garage and being parked back into a spot..i walked over to the mechanic, and before i could ask him "why is the car coming out of the garage"he hads me a inspection sheet with just check marks.they didnt even tell me my car was going in..thats great personal relations with the customer..i will never venture 1 1/2 hours from clinton, nj to ever go to wwoc again...my 2 cents...........

Bill, its to bad you didnt meet everyone but thats what the spring rally if for, right? Thanks for all the kind words. Im really getting down the whole talking to people with nice cars thing. I definately got plenty of practice today. Today was by far a landmark in my life. It was a good kick in the ass to do good in school and work hard. One of the pics is of the bikers, one of which was from my town, Pleasantville. He even knew my assistant wrestling coach (who is a NYC firefighter). Bill, i kept up ok in the honda, im not particularly impressed with the performance of the 550 (wink wink);) (thanks for not really driving your car or i would have been in the dust. |

Tim did a pretty good job of covering the event, and was working the room pretty well, too. I have no doubt that he (and Kenny H., both aspiring F-car owners) will be there sooner than they think. Other highlights included a pristine 500 Superfast (don't see those every day, even at events with over 100 F cars), a white on white Countach (late edition, did i say it was really White), and a meeting, at the foot of Bear Mountain, with a bunch of Firemen/bikers from the Red Something or Others, some of whom were really into the Ferrari and others who looked like they would rather have disemboweled me on the way to the head. Tim was a trooper and deserves a longer ride; we had a nice drive up to Storm King, and then got to WWoC after a couple of hours out on the roads. There was another black barchetta there (not quite identical:-metallic paint and tan int.), owned by a guy who lives in my town, no less. I'm sorry i didn't get to meet everybody when i was there, but i had a great time too. |

Great to meet a bunch of you guys, it was a great day, lots of nice cars and people. I thought it was funny the cops were doing a registration check right down the road and don't think they ticketed anyone for lack of front plates - there were a lot missing - I guess the cops are ferrari fans |

Today was a great day. I will have this smile on my face for weeks. I started off the day by meeting Bill H at his house. He took me around the block in the barchetta to warm the fluids up. It was my first time in a moving ferrari. His friend mike came over and rode with him. I followed (or at least tried to) on a nice drive up to bear mtn and over to rt. 9w. My honda was really sucking wind trying to keep up, she probably wasny happy that i had the fronts plowing at like 80 around some of those turns. Next time i will have to talk my dad into not taking his audi to work. We got to WWoC at a little after 10. The mechanics fixed Bill's hood latch problem while we looked around. Alot of nice cars were there including an F50. A few Fchat members were there, those being myself, WHart, Bill V, (too many Bills!) Bret, Rijk, Steve long, Billy Zeiss, Dave M, and Tom D. If i forgot anyone, please tell me. Highlights for me were first, the ride in Bills barchetta, man what a car. Rijk also took me for a ride in his silver '72(?)365 daytona (see pic, thats him to the right of the car). I had a blast, it put such a smile on my face. That 352hp V12 just sang to its 7,600 rpm redline getting on 287. I would guess it had 0-60 time in the mid 5 second range, amazing for a 30 year old car. Man those classic ferrari's are amazing. I also have to thank Billy for taking me out in his 93 NSX with a tubi, and LETTING ME DRIVE IT! I have a question, how much of a hp gain did the tubi give? even if it gave nothing, the sound made it a worthwhile investment i guess. Thanks again, im now considering scrapping the 95 S4s plans and going with an early NSX (thanks for corrupting me ). Other nice cars where Tom's mondial cab with a baby seat in the front, something you dont see to often. The pic of the inside of the garage shows his car on the right and Bill H's on the left. I enjoyed taking with all of the guys about cars, especially Bill H, Mike, Bill V, Billy Z, Bret, the guy with the supercharged 308 (that thing made some great sounds), and everyone else. Damn i cant wait for the spring rally. I'll have to have an Fchat BBQ at my house sometime soon. That GT40 also came out of the garage, it sounded so nice with its high lift and high overlap cam. One of the mechanics also started up one of the 333sp's and reved it maybe half way to its 11,000 rpm redline. My ears still hurt from that. Im probably forgetting alot of stuff, but if it comes to me i'll post it. Im sure the rest of the guys will have stuff to add. Ohh yeah, there was alot of food too. Thanks again to everyone who was there, we have to get together soon. |

The pics suck, sorrt about that. Its rumored that all the 333sp's and the GT40 all belong to the same guy. They were in a seperate garage out back. They started one up, all i have to say is holy , what sound that thing made. It sounded even nicer than Rijks 365 daytona, and thats hard to beat. After i eat i will write about the day. |

Here are the pics, description is on the way. It was one hell of a day though. Alot of Fchat guys were there. The pics are kind of crappy because they were taken with a digital camera that verizon gave us when we ordered DSL, you cant expect much from something that is free.
