ciccio- I have a 96 F355 and highly recommend it! Doody is right about the convertible top...you do need the e-brake on. The top is kind of Rube Goldberg design...check to make sure the windows operate after the top is up. Sometimes the switch in the top's left locking mechanism gets out of alignment. Best of luck! ciccio: if you email me a fax number i'd be happy to fax you a copy of the forza article. the 1996 MY saw the big changes from the 1995. the car was largely unchanged 1996-1999. IMO, private deal 20K miles in solid condition, full service history, proper services done in a desireable color i'd guess 115K? F1 wasn't available for 1996 MY. most cars in that timeframe were fairly stock. i don't think the challenge grill was even an option then (?). drilled rotors, scuderia shields, cd changer - not too many options as far as i know. the top works as follows (to open - same as to close, but, duh, in reverse): * close the doors * key in II (or running) * i think the ebrake needs to be on, but i could be wrong (p-car memories intruding!?!?!). * sun visors down. * one big manual locking mechanism above the rearview mirror. * pull roof back until you hear a beep * then operate via the center button in the console b/w the seats. doody. |

Going to look at a 96 355 spyder yellow/black 20k on Wed. This car is being sold privately. As a I cannot find my Feb, 2000 issue of Forza which features a 355 buyers guide, I am reaching out for help. What should I look for as far as potential problems, what questions should I ask and what do you feel would be a fair price if the car is well maintained and in good shape. How can I tell if any panels have been repainted? Also were there any special options in 1996 that would make a differnece in value. Can any 355 spyder owners out there enlighten me on how the convertible top operates ? Any help and comments would be appreciated |
