Steve, I think that you are exactly right. It is a very nice car. I have heard quite a variation in price from about 100K to 200K. I am not sure how many will spring for 200K though. Is a regular Ford dealership suppose to be able to service the GT40?

It's a looker. I just wish it was smaller - it's too big to drive around on narrow city streets. I don't get the trend toward bigger cars. What's wrong with making small(er) sports cars like the elise ?

For me, the question isn't: "should they build it", but: "why did they ever stop?". If you get a chance, pick-up the AutoWeek print version (14 Jan 2002) it's got some better photos including:
1. An interesting 3/4 rear view from above where you can really see a lot of '67~'68? Mustang shape between the A-pillars and the rear wheels like they suggest, and
2. A gorgeous full side profile. I thought my TR had a short rear overhang, but on this car the upturned tail flows out tangent to the rear tires -- simply wonderful!

Steve, thanks for the link. WOW 500 hp and 500 ft/lb of torque! The black 308 just got replaced by the GT40 as my current wallpaper:)

no - they had it on a turntable and one hanging on the wall. I did take some interior shots. In fact I took about 100 pix so hopefully I can post some more later on today.

I wasn't really impressed with the Lambo.....

Nice pix of the new GT40, Nika. Did you get a chance to sit inside?

That supercharged engine looks pretty cool. But I miss that "bundle of snakes" look of the old car.

I have all the info somewhere - I'll have to dig it up. The car was amazing but at $100,000(a guesstimate I was told) a bit steep for what you get.

Nika, tell us more about the GT-40. What size of engine is Ford planning for the car? (hope its a big block) Did you talk to any Ford representitive at the display about the car? Is Ford planning on producing this car again or they just trying to attract show goers to their display? Thanks for posting those great pictures!

It would be nice to see a Ford VS Ferrari battle all over again.
