Steve, I guess I should have been a little more clear in my comments. When you locate the wire to the running lights do not cut it. Then put a coupler or splice connector on the wire running a wire from it to your aux. switch then run a hot 12volt to the other leg of the switch. The splice connectors can be found at any auto store and are blue in color. I mounted the switch up under the same inst. cluster. You can't tell it's there. MAGOO |

STEVE, I put a switch in line on my 79 308. I used a test light to determine which wire led to the running lights and ran a seperate 12volt line to it. If you have a 308 you can find that harness behind the clock on the left side of the dash. The harness is identified by a white junc tion block directly behind the clock. The easiest way is to remove the two screws of the cluster panel that holds the clock and oil temp guages. MAGOO |

I recall seeing the explanation on how to perform this task at www.ferrariclub.com web site, under the FAQ listing...they also had a neat write-up on how to improve the brightness of the instruments in the dash...... |

I can do it, don't turn your headlight switch to far. I found out last night. I thought I had turned them on, the lights did not come up. I was going for the fuse box when I turned the switch a little further and they came on. I have a 1980 308 |

I suspect that this is an old question but can anyone give me the tricks needed to switch the wires in the connector for the pop up headlights so you can turn on the running lights without the headlights poping up. I know that there is a diode kit but I understand that you can accomplish the same by switching the wires in the light switch connector under the steering colume. Thanks Steve |
