Thanks! I was not aware of that. After all these years, problem solved. |

Edward...Crumpet was also slang for a woman. |

I still have older copies of magazines from the 60s and one that sticks out is in a Road & Track that calls the XKE the "Greatest Crumpet Collector of all Time". I still have not figured out what they meant by that. A Crumpet is a pancake cooked on one side only. |

my favorite is the dean batchelor daytona road test photo, showing his hands on the wheel and the speedo and tach buried to the max. that shot resurfaces occasionally... |

I remember that Road and Track picture vividly.....The Boxer is almost my favorite Ferrari....seeing it sit there hammered is hard to take. But the picture....without the caption....is worth much more than a thousand words and an interesting study in humans..... |

LOL. I just get such a kick out of this one, something about the understated humor. LOL again. |

I have that issue somewhere amidst the thousands of other car magazines I have. I remember running across the picture when I was doing inventory. I will try to locate the edition of R&T for you Nika! |

Hmmm...I remember seeing that boxer in a ditch picture in the early 80's. 82 or 83. I could be a bit off. |

Damn Nika, you scare me. I thought I was the only one that had memories of magazine minutiae. I still remember the Road and Track issue that tested a federalized 365BB. The first line was "There it sits, like a mystery ship in a fog-bound harbor." I still have that magazine. The cover is torn and falling off, but I read the article once a year or so. I've never thrown away any magazine that had a Ferrari in it. |

I'm pretty sure it was in a "10 best" issue from a few years back. I have it at home and will check |

Road & Track Magazine: I remember one that had a picture of a guy standing by the side of the road - looking at his 512BB in the ditch. The caption said "Good tires Bob mused, but definitely not great" If any of you remember it - I'd love to know when it was so I can narrow my search for that specific date. Thank you!!!!!! |
