I am going to be there the last week of May. I think the 22- 27. Yep, that sounds right. I am game for something if you guys are -- I do however have to attend a groom's dinner and a wedding -- will find the dates of those events.

Thanks Jay and Nika for all the ideas of things to do -- will pass them onto the kids and wife and plan accordingly.

That would be good, when is Michael coming? Would he be up to it?

Have you ever tried Tremonti? It's across from Ferrari of Ontario at Steeles and Weston, great food!

Michael you are going to live like kings for the time you are in Toronto. Our dollar is so bad you could walk away with the entire store. Prestige is a good store but I find him a bit pricey. Then again he has what you're looking for. Don't forget to check out the Science Center, Museum (one of the best) and if you are in the mood for Jazz there is "The top of the Senetor" downtown with great jazz. Hope you have fun here.

hmmmm,
I am not sure if I understand that right. Snow prevents you from driving?

...hm, waether report, sunny to partly cloudy, some mid 70s and just a great day to be in the F and have the top in the garage :)

Nika,
you can sell gold also from Miami and drive in your golden yellow F in the morning...LOL

The Park Hyatt Hotel....the renovated one on Avenue Road - good choice. You'll be by a very trendy district. A few blocks away is a great model shop "Prestige" - tell Joe Russo I sent you and he'll give you a deal on any Ferrari stuff.

The kids will enjoy the museum a block away.....I think you'll love the area.....I KNOW your wife will with Chanel, Louis Vitton and other high end boutiques close by.

Have the kids seen the theatre show of the Lion King.....I'm not sure how much longer it'll run - but it's a must see for them.

Nika,

Yes, we are. Good memory. How's the Hyatt Hotel there? We have 2 kids (5 and 6) so we need lots of room. Its downtown right?

Horrible tart -- all you need is some training from a good Sugar Daddy.. Hey William.... :)

I do that all the time during the summer - but I store my car off-site during the winter months(my garage isn't heated). Now I'm sure I could go "visit" my car but why have them think I'm that Ferrari-crazy......that's MY secret and hopefully just between you, me and the 500 other FC chatters.

LOL

Hey Nika, do what I do when I can't drive my Lotus: go out to the garage, sit in the car with a cocktail, put some tunes on the stereo/CD and enjoy the feel of the seats, the leather...it's different than driving for sure but I love communing with my car like that!
Nika (Racernika)
Posted on Friday, January 18, 2002 - 2:30 pm:

I need Spring...I need my car back - it's my PROZAC....... amazing what a drive in that car can do - lifts my spirits at first shift.

Nika
ps - Thanks for the offer but sorry I make a horrible tart.....LOL

BTW Michael - Aren't you and your wife coming up to Toronto this Spring?
Michael A. Niles (Man90tr)

Hey Nika,

Do you need a shoulder to cry on? I volunteer, just don't tell my wife. :)

I think William would win by default since he lives in BA for 4 months away from his cars. Now if you said stay away from your cars, no race track, no anything -- then well William loses but other people have a chance now. :)

A Ferrari Chat Survivor.........?????

Martin - I'm sure "roughing it" for you is a weekend at the Four Seasons.......I just can't picture you on that show (chuckle)
Martin (Miami348ts)

We could do "Ferrari-Chat Survivor"
Who can stay the longest away from his car will win a free oil change ... LOL

I would not eat these worms and crap for $1 Mio and by far not for ONLY the possibility of winning that.

Brian, if you go on Surviver and complain about missing your Ferrari, you'll be the first one voted off!

Forget Junkyard Wars, how about Survivor? Would we giveup the cars and this board for $1m?

The US one is filmed in Kalifornia and they do take care of everything. The show takes a few days to tape.

Posted on Thursday, January 17, 2002 - 5:34 pm:

Any idea where this is filmed or how much time is required? Do they provide transport, accomodations, or compensation?

It sounds like fun - I have two companies, a construction company and a technical communications firm (business phone systems, computer networks, etc) plus if I can keep a TR running, then whatever they come up with should be a breeze.

Did you read the application form? I can say I have welded..(TWICE IN MY LIFE).....but the next box I can check is Swimming (?) I haven't clue about sawing, grinding, mechanics, quantum physics, theory of relativity, how they get the caramel in the caramilk bar!!!!!! I am strictly team co-ordinator and cheerleader - just without the short skirt and pom poms.

Nika,

Richelson, Jay and I are obviously ready to go. And may be it would be a good idea for some alternates.

Since you have initiated the thought, could you come up with some ideas for the team name? Then the 3 of us need to get our thoughts together on the rest.

Then we must fill out the online application.

Have any of you looked at the app?

The application deadline is Monday 28th January 2002.

What do you think, Joe
J. Grande (Jay)
Posted on Thursday, January 17, 2002 - 10:08 am:

I'll do it! Me and my wife love the show. If we get a Ferrari team can we all wear F1 pit crew outfits? That would be cool!
Richelson (Richelson)

Details are below!!! Count me in !!! On second thought - when building a crane, submarine, catapult etc - color and esthetics are not that important....(look of fear)

I'll watch and cheer you on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nika,

Same here! I'd like to participate. I watch that show every Tuesday night. I think that it's innovative to turn 2 teams of 4 lose in a junkyard to build some sort of mechanical device that must achieve a set goal (or come close to) to win.

Yeah, count me in and give me the details.

Well, if I get to hang with Nika: I am an expert welder, I worked on the shuttle progam at NASA, I designed Ginger and I can disassemble and reassemble a Boxer engine in the dark, blindfolded and after a quart of hot sake. And I have a yellow Daytona. Am I hired??? (I also have a bridge in NY to sell if anyone is interested...)

Junkyard Wars is looking for new teams to compete in their 2002 season. For those of you that havent seen the show on TLC (Wednesdays @ 9) Junkyard Wars is an hour-long engineering talent show that pits teams of mechanics and engineers against each other. With the help of an expert, each team of three is given ten hours to build a particular machine using parts they salvage from a junkyard. The winners go through to further rounds and a chance to get their hands on the Junkyard trophy.

We are looking for teams of three who are all skilled at putting together sophisticated machinery and not afraid of getting their hands dirty. The best teams are made of people you already know and have worked or played with before.

Junkyard Wars wants applications from people of all ages, races, creeds, colors, sexes, religions and sexual orientations, as well as people with physical disabilities. We are especially interested in applications from teams with women and/or people of color, as our current crop of contenders is underrepresented among these groups. Lots of kids watch Junkyard Wars and we want to show all of them that there should be no barriers to becoming the worlds greatest mechanic or engineer.

If you think you match the description or you know of someone who does please do log onto our website and apply: http://www.junkyard-wars.com/appforms.htm. You will also need to make one short, very simple video tape of all three team members. Dont be worried about this, you dont need to edit the tape or do anything fancy as we are only judging on content, not style.

However we do need completed applications and videos as soon as possible our deadline is January 28th 2002.

Please mail the applications to:
