We'd love to come, thanks for the invite. It's just me and my wife no kids (YES!). Our babies are our cars...not that there is anything wrong with kids, just I'd rather have the cars!:)

Well, the sad thing is that Murray Walker is no longer doing commentary... the Indianapolis Grand Prix was his last live commentary... (sniff sniff)

I remember once on TSN that the ITV signal didn't come through and Deutischyn (yes, the sportsdesk guy) had to do the commentary... was an absolute hoot

SV did not have a contract with them until very late last year...something like 2 weeks as I recall. They have posted that they plan on obtaining the rights moving forward and I would guess with Murdoch's cash, it should happen.

I read recently that F-1 does not have a contract yet to broadcast into the US for 2002. This is probably a combination of Speedvision's love of NASCAR, and Bernie (the richest man in the world)trying for that last shilling.

I love when Murray Wallker forgets everyones name and Martin Brundle has to correct him!LOL He must be about 100 years old by now! I know the feeling of waking up at 7:00am to watch the race. I know I can catch the repeat later on in the day but it's just not the same. I remember one year I had invited a bunch of people over to watch the race from Suzuka, it started at midnight...one problem....Damn Curling! The Briar's cup was on and they pre-empted F1 for Curling! I had 20 people over waiting to watch the race and we were stuck with...SWEEP!SWEEP!...what a joke!

I remember James Hunt - what a character (his bio is a must read book)! I saw him at Budapest airport after the Grand Prix (1992) barefoot with an old undershirt on & shorts......like he should of been mowing his lawn or sitting in a lazyboy with a beer. LOL

He was a great racer and a great commentator too!

Nika I agree, I love Murry Walker and Martin Brundle's commentary. I find Speedvisions coverage kinda dry and uninviting. British coverage is so much more exciting.

shown live in Canada - a Sunday morning ritual(TSN)...have the gang over for crepes, french toast, bellini's, strong coffee and Formula One. Better commentators too then the US station!

and for chrissake - don't try to wake me up before 7am on any other weekend but race weekend!!!!!!!

I know they don't start until march, but I just got into F-1 this summer watching the "year in review" tapes I bought. Are the grand prix's televised on regular stations here in the states or do you have to have Speedvision (I don't)?

Thanks,
Chris
