Yes, your right, I crashed my Ducati-actually someone t-boned me-on August 1, and my bike was in the shop an additional month on account of the Italian "holiday" month. Talk about bad timing. |

Ill be in Tuscany (Florence/Sienna) last week of august. Any recommended drives? Going to try and rent an F-car for the week. Any recommendations? |

Try going to Sardegna, Amalfi Coast, Porto Fino or up in the mountains around August and you'll find just about every Italian.....along with a ton of Brits, Germans, Scandanavians and the rest of Europe. Europeans definitely take summer vacation serious. Here in the US, people freak out if you get more than 2 weeks a year vacation! |

italy shuts down for the month of august - national vacation time - its really weird you can actually drive through rome without hitting too much traffic - try that in other months - anyway thats the way it is - kind of wish we had that here in the US but hey. the 15th is also Feragust (i slaughtered the spelling) which is a national holiday |

i know that the whole country shuts down for that month (used to live there), and specifically during the days that i am passing through (unfortunately). but does anybody know whether the cavallino restaurant is open in mid august? how about that new ferrari store next to the factory? |
