The secret is talking to your girlfriend/wife while thinking about the Ferrari. Is there anything else that will sound more passionate to her? I need to be careful about giving away my secrets, my wife reads this forum. |

Sandra: I agree: The Toyota 4 runner is a great car. My wife had a 96 for almost 5 years. Good choice! I have to say that: To all you guys: Take it easy on the ferrari chick discussion. It is not really that thrilling, is it? It's not the car, it's the age (the older the better, I am 39, a shower every day, nice smelling after shave, respect the girls, and you can have all the girls in the world. It is that easy! And - don't talk about your Ferrari all the time. |

DEAR BRETT: MY HUSBAND WENT UP IN THE W0RLD RECENTLY AND PROGRESSED OUT OF HIS OLD 1908S FORD PICK UP TRUCK AND INTO A SLIGHTLY LESS OLD PATHFINDER. HE IS A DEVELOPER AND IN THE MUD ALL DAY. HE WASN'T EVEN SURPRISED THE DAY I DROVE HOME IN A RED FERRARI. HE SAYS WHY SHOULD HE BUY A FERRARI WHEN HE CAN DRIVE HIS WIFE'S!! I RARELY GET TME OFF FROM MY M0ORTGAGE BUSINESS SO I CALL MY FERRARI "MY MINI VACATION". WORKED SO FAR!! PS WHEN IM NOT DRIVING FEE FEE I DRIVE A TOYOTA 4RUNNER LTD EDITION 4WD AND LOVE THAT CAR TOO! |

being a girl, my goal is not to pick up chicks and being married its not to pick up men, however I do like the swiveling heads as I fly by !! The best comment I had was when I was motoring down the local beach road with my best freind in the passenger seat and her friend sitting in the middle on the handbrake and we came to a screaching stop when I saw a local guy that he Iknew. A big smile came across his face and he said "oh my god, 3 gorgeous women - a redhead, a blond and a brunette driving down my road in a red Ferrari. Thats my dream come true. I might as well go back to bed as I ain't (we're in the south), gonna see anything better than that today" ainthe Ferrari down the beach road |

Watch out for the Idaho comments! I resemble that We run a few Ferraris around here-unfortunately they chip seal the roads often. With regards to Porsches, I had a guy pull out in front of me and hit his brakes on I84 at 75MPH in an attempt to cause me (now following him)to wreck my 914. To his misfortune and cheezy 91 Geo, he lost control and rolled and I easily dodged his carnage. Some people just don't get the idea of the fast/passing lane. Good thing I learned to drive in So Cal. |

I know exactly where you are coming from. I live in Chattanooga, TN. It is a great town but I always get asked, "Why do you need a car like a Ferrari?" or "Your just paying for the name." , etc. Some individuals know what type of car it is but most don't. |

The only girl I know that is remotely interested in cars (other than that they might look nice) is a girl with an blue 5speed M3, she's pretty cool. I remember asking this one girl(she's a little flakey) "What car are you gonna get when you get your license?" She goes "A white one" I was like "Yeah but what what kind of car?" She was just like "ummm, a BMW I think." I didn't even bother asking what model, she has a 2000 white 323i (but I doubt she knows that). Luckily the female members of the tifosi on this site are nothing like this girl that I know. I think if I met a girl that drove a Ferrari I would propose to her right there. |

Is Colorado Springs in CA also ? why dont u just tell chicks u have a double wide trailer home & ocasionally date your sister LOL JUST KIDDING!!!! I'm sure the Goobers can relate to that better than a pursha LOL I lived in San Fran in 97 & 98, maybe I'm too picky but attractive women were very few & far between. here in BA the chicks r so hot & plentiful that I'm getting bored & miss my cars |

Don't have my Ferrari yet, but did own a 911 Porsche for 15 years. My expierence in the San Francisco Bay Area was positive, it does seem to impress. Here in Gooberville (Colorado Springs) the only thing that impresses are pickup trucks and mobil homes....I have had many negative coments about my Porsche |

A friend of mine has a nice older Porsche and I have a Ferrari. We often go out for a cruise in the two cars and park and have lunch or whatever. One day when we were in a parking lot, a young woman walked over to us and was checking out our cars. Then she asked him what year his car was, admired it, and told him about when she picked up a Porsche in Germany. They had a nice chat and then she walked off to her sporty little Audi parked across the way. She didn't even bother looking at the non-German vehicle. So go figure. |

Standing outside a prestigious nightclub with my Ferrari parked in Pole Position 15ft in front of me, an attractive young lady leaned over to me and said in a hushed tone (Not knowing it was my car) "Pretty nice Ferrari... my ego shoots up and all of the money and hard work seemed to pay off in just that one sentence, then she said "I bet that guy has a &!@* this long" (Fingers an inch apart). My ego deflated immediately. Needless to say I did not approach my car until after she had left the scene. The next week or so on my way into town a car load of women flashed me, like as in mardigras. If nothing else the car creates its own stories. |

I always had girlfriends and stuff and went to parties a lot, but I must say that the day I got the Ferrari suddenly every girl in school needed a ride somewhere. I don't mind. The first day I brought it to school literally every kid in my school was asking me about it and stuff. Everyone seems to like it a lot. I've noticed that when I'm with a girl and someone asks me what car I drive, the girl is always like he has the Ferrari in a tone that is like how could you not know. Girls, or at least highschool and college girls, definitely notice it even if they don't let on that they do. I too have had positive reactions from every stranger that has come up to me to look at it. If you don't drive like a maniac and when people come up to you, you give them a very cordial attitude they love it which is good, the more people that like Ferrari the better in my opinion. I also had a kid ask me, "Is it real?" I was just like are you joking. |
Kenneth Butler (Mondialman)
| Posted on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 5:42 pm: | |
It's like a 10-1 ratio: for every girl that asks about the car, 10 guys ask. I think a gay man would get more dates than a hetrosexual man. Women aren't all that interested in cars. Unless it's an SUV!! |

Let's see... Bosch alternators, starters, fuses, relays, FI, engine management, and ignition (on the later cars); ZF transmissions; Sachs clutches; ATE brakes -- Germany Connely leather interiors; Borg and Beck clutches -- England Koni shocks and suspension bushings --- Netherlands SKF bearings and belt tensioners --- Sweeden I give up-- is it Italian? |

Ha! David, this is a question that I get commonly about my 328. I never expected it when I bought it, but several people have asked me in the past month "Is that a *real* Ferrari?" My 328 is dark blue, so I think it doesn't stand out quite as much as the brighter colors. But those who do notice it generally take an interest. |
David Prall (Davidpra)

My favorite response has always been to say, "It's actually a kit car - not a real Ferrari". |
Rob Lay (Rob328gts)
| Posted on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 1:25 pm: | |
I know the TR will open more jaws than a 328, but it's fun to get the looks. I usually try to act overly humble and a little embarrassed when around the car in public. That usually gets the most positive responses. One of my favorite lines is... "ohh, it's just a piece of metal." Although, everyone on here and my wife know how I truly feel. I do have people lined up at work to have lunch. |

Since we r often accused of buying Ferraris just to impress chicks & get laid more often, what has your experience been regarding your F & there impact on the women around you ? When I was 25 I used to think Half the reason I got my 308 was for chicks. Now at 37 I like having them around cus they really are outstanding works of art that u can do a lot more than just look at. Interactive art if u will Very rarely i get that, "Oh he's a rich snob" assumption by some knucklehead who has never even spoken to me. Last time I remember parking the 512TR on Ocean Dr in front of the News Cafe & getting out for lunch the look on this 27 yr old womans face was priceless, like "Oh my God, who the hell is this " hilarious |
