I agree.... sheesh... $42K for a 1982 400i??? Whats up with that? Did it still have plastic on the seats and 10 miles on the odometer? Good Grief, I've seen 412's selling for less then that!

Don't forget to add the 7.2% tax on top of that. Private sales are not charged tax in AZ but at the auction there is tax.

Well, those results are actually nice to see. I'd like to see Ferrari values rebound.

The prices Martin listed below do include the prem. As you pointed out the 360 spider went for 240. 240*8% = 19.2. 19.2 plus 240 = 259,200 which is the price Martin and the BJ website lists as what it sold for.

Even if you take out the 8% premium you still have cars like the 1985 308 GTS QV going for nearly $45K which is 328 territory. The 1994 348 TS woould be around $48K which is also 328 territory which makes the 348 look like a good deal. What is really surprising to me is the fact that the price difference between the 348 and the 308 was only about $5k after you take out the buyer's premium. The 512BBi also looks like it was a good deal unless the car had "stories"

Tom I don't think it includes the 8% buyers premium. I watched the 360 sell for $240K and they said the premium is added on to that price!

martin

They defintily include the premium. I'm telling you especcially at the lower end (less than 100k) people tend to be less experienced and end up paying more than they should because they get carried away. To me a white coupe mondial with 11k miles should be worth less than a mondial in similar cosmetic condition with 30k. If a car has 200 miles maybe it can command a premium but that is more typical of the high end collectibles which the mondial is not.

Tom I was wondering that too. This is out of the F-Market Letter. I remember that the 360 Spider sold for $240K, so this may well include the premium, still, look at some of these prices.
88 Testarossa $83,000 , 88 Mondial Coupe $ 36,000
a 308Qv for $ 48,600, what planet are these people from?

400i for over 40K NUTZ
and then you look at a 250 Lusso Competizione for only $ 189,000, probably with history.

I think both mondial's were white! and had a least 10k miles on them. Does sound high but remember some people get carried away in an auction environment. Man if my wife thought I could get 40k for my mondial convert I may not have it any more :(

looks like martin's prices include the 8% buyers premium.

A Mondial 3.2 coup sold for $36 450 and a Mondial T Cab sold for $44 280? Does someone see something wrong with this?
