This is from: FERRARI: Design of a Legend - The Official History and Catalog.

The quote is next to a picture of a 206 with headlight covers and no mirrors. I dont have a scanner...so maybe someone else can post a picture. Hope this helps.

"1967. Type Dino 206GT. Carrozzeria Pininfarina. The final configuration of the Dino, with the streanlined plexi-glass headlights. Of all Ferrari symbols, the Dino is perhaps the strongest technical and emotional overtones: first the name (or rather the make), since Enzo Ferrari wished to dedicate more than just an ordinary model to the memoryof his only son; then, the car itself, top quality in the Ferrari/Pininfarina tradition, open to wider market than usual; last, the agreement with Fiat to mass produce a coupe' and a sports car with a Dino-derived engine. The Dino was also one of the most stylistically innovative Ferraris ever built and became a kind of permanent for the rear-engined berlinettas of the 1960s."

I have a good friend that is finishing a restoration on a 206GT #00396. He has all of the mechanical restoration done. Now he is doing the HARD part the cosmetics.

He is missing the bumpers. I have been trying to research what they would look like. Do you know if they are the same bumpers as the ones used on the early 246, with the license plate lights? Would 246 bumpers fit and look correct?

He has headlight covers on his car, but they look very different than what is on most 246's and we are not sure if they are correct. I did read in a couple of sources that Dinos did not leave the factory with covers, but in all of the Turin Auto Show pictures the car has covers. Again would 246 headlight covers fit on a 246 and would that be correct for the time period?

His car also has very modern side mirrors on the car. We know this is incorrect, but most of the photos I have of 206 GTs don't have side mirrors at all. Did any 206 GT have factory mirrors? What would be a correct mirror for the time period?

The Pininfarina emblem in most of the pictures I have seen is different than 246 Dinos. Most 206s that I have found pictures of have the Crest centered over the Pininfarina plate, some photos show this only on the right side of the car others show this on both sides and many don't show any or just show the Pininfarina plate. Do you know what would be correct?

Please help with sources for parts and knowledge on 206 GTs.
