I bet you could find some F-chatters to house your F car overnight in CA. BTW If any of you guys need an overnight garage for the F-car while driving through in the New York/NJ area I will always move the wife's benz into the driveway to make room for an F-car.

Arthur-thanks for offer-I'll let you know if I'm in your area.
Jason-Portugal is a lovely country especially where you are going. If you get to the Estoril casino please visit my money!
Willis-Rarely can one find a private garage even at the best joints.Best I could do while traveling with the 360 is indoor hotel parking in the most obscure part of the garage.

Martin,
I am heading to California at the end of July....Apparently if I arrive any sooner, Uncle Sam wants a slice of my hard earned nest egg....Just to complicate matters further...if I stay any longer than the end of March in the UK....Her Majesty would also like a slice....so I am moving to the Algarve, Portugal for a little while...I've rented a small villa and I'm bringing plenty of books & my movie collection......My last day of work is this Thursday.

need a fun road to drive while in CA? find it here

There are some roads in here, you just can't pass up! HWY 1 just South of Monteray to ~San Luis Ob., I highly recommend, as well as Angeles Crest, right outside of Los Angeles if you can make it. Also, one that is not on there - the Ortega HWY, which is just South of Los Angeles.

Have fun on the trip!

Martin:

If you're planning to drive through the SF bay area, let me know. I'd be glad to meet and show you some of my favorite roads.

Martin,

Glad to hear you're OK.

I guess leaving any Ferrari in a motel parking lot is a pretty risky proposition. Isn't it possible to arrange a secured spot at hotels?

JMG-Don't want to worry about the 360 in motel parking lots on the way down and hotel parking lots in Santa Barbara.(and driving the new m3 is not a terrible sacrifice!)By the way your black Mondial Cab is stunning.
Jason- Thanks for inquiring- I have recovered completely from the prostate surgery and feel great.Best of all the pathology was benign. Not going to California for any medical reason-just to get some sun.
When will you be stateside?

Martin...drive the coast in the 360! That is how I came back after purchasing mine. Weather was mediocre but scenery overcame.

Driving from Oregon to Santa Barbara in the E46 M3
Probably will stay there 2-4 weeks in Feb.Anyone want to hook up for coffee,a spirited drive and car talk? If so E mail me.
Was thinking of taking the 360 but the thought of driving it over the passes dissuaded me.
