Even alot of chevrolets are technically imports, many of them are made in canada. What makes a car an import, the place it was assembled or where the parts were made? Im pretty sure some japanesse companies have assembly plants in the US. I would hope the ferrari could kick the crap out of japanses cars too. Everyone thinks those imports are such a good value, then u try to mod them. I bet they all costed over 100k

Basically almost all cars are imports nowadays! It's just the name that determines domestic or import, well actually maybe not. Consider Daimler-Chrysler. Global economy, gottah love it!

Great! Now I can go and show my kids. Since the movie the "Fast & the F..." they have been biased towards Japanese imports a little. I have the "Sport Compact Car" issue where they laid out the cars in the competition, and I was also surprised to see a Ferrari there, but as they put it "they needed a reality check" to properly compare these cars.
Now I want to soup-up my TR and make it a Spagetti rocket! If I could just find my check book ...

I just picked up the March 2002 issue of Sport Compact Car. They just completed their USCC (Ultimate Street Car Challenge) ratings and a Ferrari 360 Modena F1 won over the likes of 10 cars, all of them modified (even one running on ethanol!). It's a good read, you guys/gals should check it out. I was skeptical at first, because normally Sport Compact Car is biased towards Japanese Import cars (just check out their advertising) and feature mostly Honda's, Acuras, and Toyotas. I'm happy for Ferrari and for Sport Compact Car magazine.
