1) -85 TR
2) -89 348 TB
3) 288 GTO

Nice to be on this board by the way. I have loved Ferraris all my life but havent been able to get my hands on one, yet..

Very soon a member of Ferraristi Svezia.

I like the 288 GTO but I think it's overprized, a 308 with 288 bodystyle, nice wheels and the engine modified would do the same for me. The F40 is a nice car too but it looks too much like a race car.

F40 didn't come to U.S. until '90. If it's still eligible, it's my first pick. Second would be the 512BB. Third is the 288 GTO.

Hmmm... I see a pattern here:

For me:

1: 512BB (who cares if it doesn't have a trunk, that's what the butler driving behind in the Range Rover is for!)

2: 288 GTO (the purest form of the supercars. Same as above)

3: 328 GTB (with the concave, pre-ABS wheels)

If the Boxer is eligible, it gets my vote.

If not, then the 288GTO of course.

Don't forget about the Boxer (if we're including cars that came out in the late 70's, but stayed in production into the 80's, like the 308 & 365/400/412). I'll take the Boxer --- the shape and stance exude power like no other. Oddly enough, 400's that have been converted to rag tops inexplicably catch my eye --- beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Besides, there is just something special about a V12 convertible (Jags don't count as they rarely run on all 12 cylinders at any given time).

Rob, you are right. 1947 to 1987 = F-40 It was released in 1987.

I think the F40 came out in 1987 or 1988 to represent the 40th year of Ferrari.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't forget the 348 (came out in 1989). But my choice would have to be:

1. 288gto
2. f40
3. 348 and 328 tied
etc....

F-40 I don't think it gets any better!

the 308 was designed in 75 & i think the 412i is from back then also.
the 328, 288GTO, Only the TR & Mondial r true 80s designs cus the 328 & 288 r really just a 75 car , freshened up :)
So that sort of knocks the 328 & 288GTO out
so between a TR & a Mondial, well I think thats a pretty easy choice :)

My vote goes towards a Mondial Cab. It has the sensuous smooth lines of the female body with the overall shape of a bullet.

I totally agree with Rob. The 288 GTO is my favorite Ferrari. The stance is so aggressive, how can your adrenaline not start flowing when you look at it? The high mast mirrors, the Ferrari stamped housing hanging below the rear valance. The whole presence of the car exudes raw power.

Someday I would love to have one in the garage... (now where's my lottery ticket?)
