Magoo, you are absolutly right. They told me already that the bill will be more expensive than expected because I told them to change all the seals, rubbers, cables, gas tubes, AC tubes ... into new ones.
I even bought directly from USA new rubbers for top and doors, boot, engine, and so on......
The expected was +- $ 7,200(US).
I don't care paying whatever it is, *BUT* the car must be better than new.
The only problem is that I suffer a lot from beeing such a long time without looking at her
:-(

Hey Vilamoura, They know you and how much you want your Ferrari perfect so they are padding the bill for you. But then again you can afford it. BRGDS. Magoo

OK are you ready for a tale. In Oct 99 I decided to have my 308 repainted. Estimated time; 8 weeks. Car was finished and I picked it up 53 WEEKS LATER! Just in time for Indiana winter and road salt. Looked fabulous, great job.
Decided to enter the concours at Le Belle Machina in PA. Drove it out there (750 miles each way) and won First place and longest distance driven award. On the way home the transfer case gear nut loosened and the gears came right out of the transfer case cover. Another 6 weeks in the shop.!
Took it to Indy for the Ferrari Gathering at the F1 race and it caught fire on the way home. Burned the entire dash and whole interior. Been in the shop since. About to be finished real soon. Someday I hope to drive it!

My favorite saying.......S**t HAPPENS!

I miss her very much.
She is at Ferrari shop since November just for major service.
I have been driving last 3 weeks to Lisbon (+-300 Km) just to see her.
They promise me she will come home after Carnival.
I DO hope so.

When I moved to a new house this past fall, I set out the do pavers for a driveway. Then it started to rain, a lot! (Imagine that happening here in WA. State!) Anyway, I was stuck with a 12" deep X 31' long hole leading into my garage for 2 months until I was able to complete the pavers. During that time though I started it every week religiously and let it run for 10-15 minutes and about every other time I would roll it back or forth to keep the steel belts from flattening.

last week of november sometime - live in PA and knew weather would be bad Dec-Jan-Feb as well as salt on roads - went with the insurance option of 25% less per year to drop collision for three months - go out to the garage every 1 to 2 weeks and let it run for an hour or so and play with all of the buttons - put the electric top down ( 355 ) windows up/down headlights up/down - play with the shifter - back out of garage 30 feet and back in - but its driving me nuts - i cant wait til march 1 and it better be nice weather out - i feel like when i was looking 4 a car and i would be driving down a winding road and i used to think how great it would be to take a ferrari once i found one down this road - well now i have one but still have the same feeling - 25 days left tick tick tick tick

I'm in the process of moving to Florida and can only make it back to the Ferrari every two weeks, which is the longest I will have not driven it by, lets see here...a week and a half! It's killing me!!

Leather should never be used for dash material. It will sun-bake and shrink, pulling away at the edges. Go find an 83 928 and see what I mean. Ferrari has moved back to using this on dashes dispite the pleas from dealer service departments not to. I had a lenthy discussion about this with a tech guy from FNA. I guess we will have to wait 15 or 20 years to see if it's a good idea or not on all those pretty 360's.
I have all the numbers you need at my office. I'll email them to you Mon.

Thanks, Tommy for that info. -- it was very helpful. I'll give Gary / Complete Interior a call as soon as I can locate their number. Atlanta isn't too very far from here (6 hours or so). I'll also contact Re-Originals to obtain the vinyl -- wow, I never knew that the dash & shroud was vinyl type material -- learn something new every day. I purchased a dash cover (velour) from a Ferrari aftermarket source as a temporary fix to sort of hide the small tear, but the cover did not fit at all (air vent holes, etc. did not line up correctly whatsoever) -- so I keep it stowed in the trunk and use it to shield the dash when the car is parked in the sun. What a waste of money that thing was (wanted a custom fit semi-permanent cover that could be mounted with hook-loop fasteners)-- could of made my own for the purpose I'm using this one for .

Eric-I am using Complete Interior in Atlanta. Ask for Gary. I cannot believe how well they did on my car. I got the vinyl from Re-Originals in TX. They had the correct grain vinyl. This is important because you don't want to have it look different from the rest of the dash or the armrests. Complete Interior did an OUTSTANDING job. I swear you cannot tell it was ever redone. Remember I even had the leather stripped off the center console and replaced. I was worried about the stitching etc., but they did a perfect job recreating the original factory appearence. I am sure there are a lot of good shops out there that can do this, I am just saying that if you go to Gary you will not be disappointed. Give him your car and relax.
