How about a water pick, or a braun plauqe remover......just kidding.....I use very soft toothbrush and kids size brushes...

Blast the hell out of it with a power washer. 1500 psi or less will do no damage whatsoever. Wow I can't seem to shake that power washer advice.

Thanks for the input guys. What I should have asked was what solution do you use? I'm unsure because of the alcohal(or other compounds) content in in cleaners. I want to avoid "hazing" the ruber or plastic.

I like to use a very soft paint brush, with a little cleaner (liquid) of some sort. Look for one with like horse hair or a more natural fiber rather than a nylon type that you find in a tooth brush. Just an opinion.

There was that fancy pink-coloured thing that Ed Gault made and would be willing to sell you a copy for removing wax in tight crevices.

Instead of a toothbrush mauling, I'll simply recommend the picks from Griot's Garage.

I'd use a soft toothbrush as well.

Hey Jerry, welcome back... congrats on the 308, wax residue or not! I'd recommend a soft toothbrush but I'd get mauled by the "no toothbrush" crowd.

I finally got my dream...308GTSI. I've been out of pocket (off the board)a long time. But glad to be back as an owner!!! My question is...what does one use to remove the unsightly (very old) wax residue in the cracks of my bumper and rear view mirrors. Seems previous owner got alittle "happy" with the wax.
