I just bought the material to make an instrument cover myself. The material is a suade like product I got at Joanne Fabrics. I'll update later how it works.

I have a nice cover that fits right over my instrument cluster.

I bought a dash cover for my 348 Spider from ItalianCarParts and it fits fine. I didn't install the velcro stickers though. I just tucked the front of the cover in where the winshield and dash meet and that holds it on even when running over 100mph with the top off. Of course I would never drive that fast on public roads.

Eric I have a dashcover on my 77 308 and it works great. If you pull out the 3 dash vents and place the dashmat down and then plug in the plastic vent outlets it holds it in place. Works great. Also I use a wood yard stick with paper towels to clean the area above the dash pod. Steve

had a velour style one as well and it kept slipping off. Sent it to an upholsterer and he made a heavier one from suede leather using the velour one as guide. It is heavier and holds to the dash better.

Mike...thanks for the window cleaning tip -- good idea. I went to the trouble of purchasing a window cleaning tool from Griot's, but it didn't work (space between pod & windshield is too narrow).

John...I'll try DashMat next -- maybe it will do the trick. I use to have a DashMat in my Fiero a while back, and it fit that car perfectly.

That's odd though that Mike's cover fit, but Tom's and mine did not. I always thought all the 308 dash's were the same...go figure.

Could someone post a picture so we could see the look these provide. I too have a tough time with glare but the dash looks great and I hate to cover it if I dont need to.

My 328 has one made by "DashMat". It fits perfect & looks great.

Mine fit quite well. I didn't want to stick the velcro strips on the dash, so I kind of stuff the leading edge up against the bottom of the windshield with a paint stirring stick and it stays in place. Also found that the paint stir stick wrapped with paper towels is a real easy way to clean the windshield in the area in front of the gauge pod. No adult hand can possibly fit in that space!

I also bought one of the covers. And it didn't fit either! I ended up buying some black felt and sewing in the holes for the vents. When I get a chance, I think I'll use this as a pattern, and make one of these all out of heavy felt.

Mike,

How well did your dashboard cover fit your 308's dash? Did all the vents, etc. line up with the precut holes in the dashcover? The reason for my asking is that I also purchased a "velour" type dashcover from italiancarparts, but it did not fit my dash whatsoever -- and to make matters worse, those things weren't cheap. They claim that it's is cut using CAD/CAM technology, which is why I purchased from them. Just curious.

I bought a dashboard cover from italiancarparts; also keeps the wierd film from forming on the windshield when parked in the sun.

Kurt, I use a black washcloth and place it on the instrument binacle when the sun reflection is bad, just fold and store when not needed.
