Thanks for the Empire State Region info from Matt. Dilly-How do I sign up for the Sebring event? This track day really made sense only at Moroso's published price of $1800 for the track (3 cars)and $150 each additional car, with $60 per hour for rescue). We bring 15 cars and supply our own corner workers so everyone gets a lot of seat time. Bret-you are right, tough to get 15 people together on a weekday. Are there 2-5 other drivers out there who are near Moroso or can get cars down there on a weekday? Then 3 to 6 of us can split cost, don't need corner workers and get to drive all day. Mr. Niles and William H listening? Anyone else interested let me know. |

At our events at Putnam park, we figure a maximum of 30 cars. This gives a decent amount of track time, we change the run groups through the day to suit driver's abilities and speeds. Cost is around $200 per car, weekdays as you say, the schedule for those is about gone for 2002 already! |

So 30 people would be about $200 each when all was said and done. Not bad. I'm game for anyday, but I doubt we could get 30 people together for a weekday. It would be worth a try though. I'll have to check out those two events also. |

If you want to do a track day with only 10-15 cars you will have to charge a minimum of $400 per person and get some volunteers to do corner work. Summit Point for example: $4500/day (9-5) + approx/ $1200 for $5million/participant accident insurance $12/hour for gate attendant (or BYO) $100/corner worker (or BYO) They provide a manned ambulance and fire truck and an unmanned wrecker. It can be done, but you will have to charge more. Actually it would be better to run multiple groups and shoot for at least 30 people. Nobody is going to run a solid 9-5 on the track. That is also only for weekdays, good luck getting a weekend day at any track without reserving it at least a year in advance and I'm sure weekend days are more expensive. |

Sorry Solly and Bret......I guess the website is down or having difficulities. The Empire State Region of the FCA has two events this season. One is at Lime Rock in early August, and the other is at the Glen over Labor Day Weekend. Im sorry that I don't have the exact date of the Lime Rock event, but I have been/am still out of the country. You can email me, and I will get those dates to you. Sorry to the conspiracy theorists..... |

Solly, the Florida Region of the FCA has an event scheduled at Sebring the first weekend in April. Sebring is a big enough track that you won't feel crowded. I have never driven Cavallino as it always seems like there are too many people on that track. Hope to see you there. |

Solly I too get the impression that the empire region and possibly the penn jersey, are fronts for something and are not in fact ferrari clubs. |

Wonder why NY region of FCA doesn't have any track days. Went to their website and they still have no 2002 events listed, only 2001. Sent them an e-mail about track day, and no one responded. Wonder if there's actually someone there. Anyway: another mini-rally would be great, and I'm happy to set it up again, but we should find some areas with less traffic. Also, still would love to get these cars on a track. I'm going to call Lime rock on Monday. |

Hey guys, I was just looking at Ferrari of Washingtons website. There are 3 track events at Summit Point and 1 at VIR. There is also something called "Friday at the Track". Looks like it's held every Friday at Summit Point. I've never done one of those events. Here's the number to call to get reservations: Summit Point Raceway, 304/725-8444. Also, you need to contact either FCA or FoW to discuss details of the track events. You can't just show up...I think. If you need additional events for the MidAtlantic region FCA/FoW, check out the following link: http://www.ferrariofwashington.com/events/events.asp. If anyone has done the Friday at the Track at Summit Point, please give us some details. Ferrari of Washington: April 22-23 FoW Track Event 703/478-3606 or www.fwash.com/trackevent September 9-10 FoW Track Event 703/478-3606, www.fwash.com/trackevent FCA: May 5 Ferrari Club Track Event/Virginia International Raceway and All Italian Tour October 19-20 Summit Point Track Event/FCA-MAR Connie and Gerry Hudson, 703/573-6522 |

STEVE, I would be interested in doing something in the Tri-State area. How about another mini-rally? We just have to avoid the East End traffic snarl this time. |

FCA events are great, but track time is limited due to crowding. I was lucky to get 2 hours total each day at Cavallino. I want to put together an event where each person can drive 6-7 hours if they want to. Please post the Summit Point schedule anyway. Thanks. |

There are 4 Track events at Summit Point(WV) ...this year and every year. 2 are done by FCA and the other 2 are sponsored by Ferrari of Washington. I'll post the dates if anyone is interested. |

If it's in the NY area I'd be interested. If I had to I could have my car together by then (I'm trying to have it done mid march, but you know how these things go). |

I am trying to put together a track day this spring, limited to 10-15 cars. I am trying to find a location within 200 miles of NYC (Lime Rock, Pocono, etc.), but am also considering Moroso in Florida (Palm Beach area) since they have availability and are reasonably priced. I want evey participant to get plenty of seat time. Trying to get price per person in the $300 range. Let me know if there is interest. If we do it in NY area, date will be early May. If we go to Fla. we can do it any time. Post your interest here. also let me know if you have any experience as a corner worker or track supervisor. We can get more cars on track at same time with corner workers. |
