yea, he was such a little guy. I did not want him to miss out and the owner was all for it, he did not go too fast maybe 90-we were in heaven! You should have seen the look on the students faces when we pulled up-CLASSIC!:-)

When I was in middle school in Fairfax, VA, this guy who was a boyfriend of a lady who lived in the complex owned a white Countach and gave me and a small friend of mine a ride to school. The buses that were lined up in front of school were all drooling...made a lot of new friends that day! That was my first love of Lambo!-there's just something about them:-)

I have been to Al Burtoni's facility and took the tour, very impressed I was. Their knowledge is second to none, they can build anything on a Diablo- I even saw one with an Automatic transmission built for a lady who was kinda handicapped. They have cars shipped to them from all over the world to have their cars worked on and upgraded and spoked to a person named Ted and told me that they are as reliable as a Ferrari as long maintained properly- key word "Properly" I will take mine there for servicing when due since it's not far from where I live. So far after 1 month of owning and 2K miles of hard driving, no problems and no oil leaks - runs like a clock.

You will be in luck if you live near Gilroy, outside of San Jose, where Al Burtoni's shop is. It is my understanding that he can really get those cars straight and do what the factory never could. He also makes a bunch of performance mods and has a pretty trick shop. The thing that always scared me about Lambos in the north east is that i have not met anyone that really works on them here; the dealers are little more than showrooms as far as i can tell, and i would think parts for anything before the Diablo would be real challenging. Having said that, if the Bat car is too much, why not a ferrari? You could have a nice Maranello for less than the cost of a used late model Diablo; I also had the impression the the 6.0 cars benefitted from Audi's ownership, if not their design. Have you ever driven one? I can't even fit into a Countach and if i had my pick of all of them, save the new one, it would probably be a Muira, with all the last production stuff:-split sump, etc.

Another great Lambo site is www.lamborghiniregistry.com. Run by a Canadian guy.

There are a few recalls on the new Murci just like any other brand new car, was the same for the 360's when they first hit the streets.

check out the Bull over here:

Also several posters on this board have Bulls as well.

Kirk is right; the 2001 Diablo 6.0 fit and finish is the best among all Diablos. The new Murcielago is even better. As far as reliability, the late Diablos are as reliable as most Ferraris. As far as reliablity on the Murcielago, of the ones that we have sold here at Fox Valley Motorcars, there have been no problems, which is rare for almost any first year of production vehicle.

There is the Lambo list too. I must say that is quite a jump from an NSX to a Lambo. Why not a Ferrari?

I have a friend in Europe who has driven a 2001 Diablo. He says he can really feel the Audi influence( a good thing) and that the 2001's are much sportier feeling than the previous models. The older models are quite heavy feeling, apparently. As far as reliablilty...I have a '67 Miura that runs like a top. But I've only put 2k miles on it in the last three years.

First sorry for this question being in the wrong question, but I figured you guys could help me out. I'm looking at trading in my NSX soon for something a little more Italian. I've always wanted a Lambo and I think my time is nearing. My question is how reliable are they (in general and specifically). I think the Murcielago is still out of my range, so I'm looking at used Diablos, maybe a Countach since I wanted one so bad when I was younger, but I'm not sure I want something that old. Also, does anyone know of any good web sites where lambo owners post?
Thanks
Mike
