Another factor with rare cars and parts is the hoarding and greed factors. Corvette parts are my prime experience. Corvettes were mass produced on GM assembly lines by the tens of thousands and original spare parts still exist by the millions. But many of the wheeler dealers make every effort at every major swap meet to buy up every rare part so they can turn around and sell it to you at 1000% mark up. The big wheeler dealers aren't doing you any favors by intercepting the parts before you can find them. It's all part of the game to beat them to the goodies. HOWEVER, with Ferrari parts, any network of parts dealers is going to be more of a help than a hinderence. I've done alot of salvage yard prowling and I have yet to see any Ferrari parts laying in the weeds. Their just too rare.

Parts are not hard to find, they are just expensive. When you find what you need for an older car you bite the bullet and buy it. Otherwise wait a long time, if you can, I can.

Remeber, Andrew, prior to the Seventies very few Ferrari's reached a production run of 1000 vehicles. You can't expect GM-style parts availability on limited production vehicles. There were only 200 275 GTS's built, for example, and 600 300 GTC's.

Im new to replacing parts nor do i have experience looking for parts..but ive heard many people say parts for the older classics are hard to find..why doesnt the factory still make them? That would make a lot of sence to me..if the factory made them, would they still be hard to find?
