interesting point, joseph. i am going to do some "tests" today. in these cases the doors are definitely closed - but i think the system thinks they're open. if i can reliably reproduce it i'll know how to avoid it. i'd be happy just to know that i don't have an electrical gremlin ;-) thanks, doody. |

If you will notice, you cannot lock the doors with a door open, as the system won't let you (keeps from locking the keys in the car that much harder). Your passengers are probably creating the same situation when opening their door as the situation that exists when trying to lock/unlock the doors with either of them open. |

switches in the center console. i've NEVER had a problem with the remote and i've NEVER had a problem with only myself in the car. it's happened twice, and in both cases i had a passenger who was in the car for the first time and in both cases they tried to open the door and/or pull up on the door lock while i was unlocking via the center console switch. doody. |

I'm a little confused. Is this problem happening when unlocking the car with the keyless entry, or with the switches in the center console?

i've had this happen twice to me now. the symptom is that when you try to unlock the doors the doors unlock and then immediate lock. it's amusing for about 15 seconds ;-) turning the car off and on a couple times seems to "reset" it. as best i can tell, it seems to be perhaps triggered by passengers pulling up on the door lock latch thingy manually OR pulling up on the door handle at the perfect time while the system is unlocking, thus confusing it such that the driver's door is unlocked and the passenger's stays locked. mama mia! we can't possibly engineer around that problem! my mechanic couldn't find anything obvious problematic after the first time; certainly nothing in the computer. anybody seen this? thanks. doody. |
