I change mine every 3 months (about 4 hundred miles). Except in the winter, I go 6 months. I like to change it before & after track meets, just because it gets so hot. I change the filter every 6 months. Am I over doing it? |

Thanks for all your help fellas. Oh and by the way, the Modena is the most incredible car I have ever owned. It simply "Waxes" my 911 in every category. With the Tubi exhaust, all I want to do is hear the engine growl, all day long! My wife says I am in LOVE again, unfortanely she meant with my Modena. |

Modern synthetic oils can indeed last 10K miles. But contrary to the typical recommendations, that does not mean it makes sense to leave the oil in your engine that long. The other reason to change the oil is because of all the foreign junk, bits of metal, etc., that get into the engine and then end up suspended in the oil. To keep your engine performing at its peak for as long a lifetime as possible... change it every 3K miles... certainly never go longer than 5K miles. Well, that's my position and I'm sticking to it. |

Paul, First of all Congratulations. If you are going to change it yourself then I would change the oil and filter every 3000 miles. If you use a dealer then expect an outrageous price. Maybe some garage near you will change it for you at a reasonable price. Anyway I change mine with filter every 3000 miles. Your call, Regards |

You should change the oil at the first 5k miles as recommended by the factory. After that, you can change it every 10k miles or once a year, whichever comes first. |

Just bought a 2000 360 Modena with 4,600 miles. I looked in the manual and it said to change the oil at 10,000 miles. Should I wait until 10,000 miles or do it at 5,000 miles. Thanks for the help. |
