My dad and I were once in a friends 60's Mustang(I can't remember exactly what year, I'm a Chevy fan) and we pulled up next to a guy with an old Plymouth with a 454 in it (we were talking to him while waiting for the light). Needless to say my dad smoked the guy off the line and when we got to the next light he's like dude, what do you have in that thing, my dad was just like a 289 (it was like a 351 combined with our car weighing like a 1000lbs less), the guys jaw dropped. This reminds me of the ego nuker you speak of.

The badging thing is funny, I have a BMW 325is and with it's M3 wheels, M3 spoiler, and suspension it looks like a M3. Have I removed the badge? Heck no, I did get the idea of taking a E36 M3, supercharging it and then putting a 318 badge on it. I would love to smoke F bodies with my "318". I would nickname her the "Ego Nuker".

Mike, I don't doubt you. But, that's one of the silliest things I've ever heard. If there are no badges, no one (casual admirers who need a badge to ID) knows if it's supposed to be a "355" either. If you know the difference between a 348 and 355, you don't need to see a badge. If you don't, how could you tell without a badge?

If in fact, they are fastened only with tape, I wonder how many simply fall off or get stolen??? Plus, I hate to think Ferrari owners are as cheesy and phony as BMW owners (HA)!

Most of the 348 spider's were de-badged by their owners when the 355 spider came out. To the casual admirer, the car can be easily mistaken for a 355 spider. BMW owners have have been doing it for years. Try to tell the difference between a 528I and an 540I without rear badging. Yes, true car guys can, but the average person in traffic can not. Most of the badges are held on with double sided sticky tape. No holes!

Not really a dumb question. Any holes where the badge should be? If not, I can virtually guarantee you that your car has been re-painted (at least the tail area). The question you should be asking is, "why?". The answer to your original question is "no". All 348's were badged when they left the factory.

My 95 Spider has no badging on the rear. All others I have seen have a silver / plastic "348 Spider " emblem on them. Did they badge some and not others?
