Bret, thanks for the contact name at Algar. That always helps, I will give them a call.
Mentioning Ferrari Chat gave me a discount at Leatherique for the 3 step dye system I plan to use on the seats and door panels. Any other vendors do that?

I would just call Algar and ask for Lee. He's excellent with parts and will be able to set you up with whatever you need (for your car at least). No need for parts numbers, etc. as long as you can describe it to him.

Thanks Magoo. From my hours of reading on this site, it sounds like you have a lot of 308 experience.

Mark, I have a 79 308 GTS. What you are describing on the painting sounds correct to me. My car is the same paint combination as yours. Try G.T.car parts.623-780-2200 on the seal.

Thanks for the input.... do you think if I faxed a quote request to Algar, Cauley, Continental etc etc they would quote prices. Where could I look up part numbers first so I would know what to ask for?

7 I get all these gaskets at Algar Ferrari. They usually have pretty good prices (most door seals are like $30 or so, so I just get them there, this might be a tad more expensive if it's the one piece section that goes across the top and then has a larger section that seals against the door). All the gaskets that I've come across have metal in them so they are press fit to the body and glued as well, although I don't think you really need glue.

Carb 308s, 2V inj., and 83 QVs have black pillars for US cars. Many have been painted to match the color of the car.

My euro 308gts '80 carb has black on the A pillars and roof line, black on the filler area, interior light switch panel, and just about every place you've mentioned.

4. Apparently www.superformance.co.uk do some decals, but they have to me modified to fit as they're for a 17" wheel

6. Mine are aluminium ??

7. I'd like to know that too ....

1. I wonder about that too. I've seen both and don't know what distinguished the difference between having black or body color a pillars.

I'm doing a total repaint and wonder about a few details: 1 The windshield posts are a matte black and the paint looks original. Pictures in Original V8 Ferrari show red windshield posts on one picture. What is original? 2 Same black paint on door opening panel that holds the interior light switch. Original V8 Ferrari shows red paint here but mine are black. What is original? 3 Silver paint suggestions for the Campy wheels? 4 Where to buy wheels decals and what is a good price? 5 Black paint in gas fill area and in drain trough areas around hood and engine cover. What is original? 6 How is the silver edge stripe applied to the plastic louvres that cover the gas fill/ window area? Was the plastic louvre natural black in color or was the plastic painted originally? 7 The rubber seal at the top of the windshield to targa top has a few cracks in the corners but otherwise is sound. Where to buy this and what is a good price? Is it attached with adhesive? or screws? 8 Any tips/tricks to make the job turn out better? Thank You, Mark
