Better, keep at it! Suggestion: since the tail lights go to the side of the car, the rear side lights are redundent. Form follows function. I also think there is too much 'empty space' to the sides of the license plate holder; maybe a duel exhaust and rear grill there? I still see a lot of Vette in the back. I love drawing cars too but I haven't your talent for it!! |

The first one reminded me of a 355 rear on a Maranello body. |

I like it more. The other seemed somewhat dated already which would be a bad thing for a prototype obviously. |

I sure do like this site better, I just wish it ran in reverse so we wouldn't have to scroll all the way to the end of the page to view the beginning of the thread, no offence. What do you guys think about this rear end instead?

Nick has a pic of a nasty 308 with velocity stacks on his site. They're cool, but taking down the engine every year would suck royally. |

Hey magoo, sure they would work! I would just have 2 foot tall velocity stacks poking out the back of the 308! Hee heee! I have always loved seeing the 250 TRs and the TR 60s with the plexiglass cover over the stacks. Dang that was cool. That just reminded me of the old Chapparel race cars with this exhaust pipes sticking out the top of the rear!? Remember that? |

I have looked over the rear and I agree that it needs to be redone. Thanks for the comments, that is why I post them. |

Jason, to me the back is very Vetteish. It looks unfinished. Perhaps you should do something outrageous there then tone it down. Scoops or something...it looks like it needs some pizzaz. Don't take this as a negative though; I like the car a lot! Just trying to stretch the envelope. |

I think it looks great. And , the Viper is the best looking American car on the road. |

Yeah, I think too much viper. I understand the GTO comment but didn't they come down more in the back. This seems to hang up there. Very nice thought |

My .02: I LOVE the large horse on the front grill; like Maserati used to do with the trident 'way back when. Maybe a (large) egg crate behind it though? Ditto on needing some rear brake scoops; right in front of the rear wheels perhaps? Overall a very nice update on the 550! |

Rumor has it that the Maranello replacement will have side exit exhaust. I am in the process of putting that on and possibly air vents on the tops of the fenders and top of the car for ventilation. |

I really like the aggressive styling on the front end. The rear end is more subdued. I would like it better with something more on the rear to eve it out, maybe rear brake ducts? Clear engine cover on a front engined car would be awesome! |

I think it's cool. I wonder it velocity stacks would pass emissions...just joking. I think it's cooler than the current 550, which I like a lot. |

I figured the Viper thing would come up but if you look at the '62-'64 GTO it was exactly copied by Viper. I am just recreating the original GTO and that is what it looks like. |

Hmm, I can see what you are talking about. Even the rear wheels look Viper-ish. I still think it looks really cool! |

Is it me or does it look a little too viper like in the back half |

Since you guys were so good to me on my concept drawings, here is another one for you to look at. This is called the 650 GTO. It is a 550 Maranello replacement and follows the 250 GTO linage from the 60's. It uses a 6.5 V12. Enjoy.
