Ernesto is so right on target. Ferraris are about driving pleasure and Lambos are about showing off. Can't say that I don't enjoy the attention if someone spotted my black 360. For the most part, people don't notice the car. That's just fine by me. |

I also have a twinner supra. I think it is one of the best "bang for your buck" cars around. Even with the inflated prices after that silly movie last summer, it is still hard to beat the performance and reliability of these cars. |

Hey, thats why I have a Supra TT?!? I need at least one FAST car:-) As far as attention goes, nope, I don't like it one bit. I am in the process of putting tints on my 360 for that very reason! I bought my 360 because of the feeling you get when you drive it (and believe it or not, it does not attract that much attention). It is incomparable to almost anything else I have driven - not the fastest but definitely the most exhilirating. The experience of driving a Diablo on the street (havent driven one on the track) was based on mostly attention, not driving pleasure. E |

Ernesto some people would say that about Ferrari's. A big reason people drive a Ferrari is because it gets attention. Maybe you dont want Lambo attention but you must want some nonetheless. There are a lot of cars that can keep up with Ferraris in the straights and in handling, but they dont get the attention of a Ferrari, and most are much cheaper. I would say that a Lotus v8 for the price of a 328/348 would probably keep up with a 360 or Diablo and would get almost no attention, now that sound more like a drivers car. How about a Supra TT a much more reliable, less head turning, but great driving car for the price of a 308 that would kill a 348. Dont get me wrong I LOVE Ferraris but you have to like some attention to drive one. |

Howie, what is so wrong about newer Ferraris being refined? |

I dont think I have ever said that I would choose a Diablo over a 360. I haven't preferred Lamborghinis over Ferraris since grade school. Like most people, I outgrew the Lamborghini's "look at me 24 hours a day" styling in favor of the Ferraris (except the Miura and 350GT, which I still love). I had a family member with a Diablo VT and I was not too impressed. Sure, every time we sent to a club or restaurant the crowd would flock us like if we were movie stars. And if that is what you want, then fine. But it is not a driver's car! Tranny sucks, ergonomics are horrible, very heavy... sure very fast in a straight line, but that is about it. Diablos are mainly show pieces. If you want to DRIVE, get a Ferrari, if you want to show off and cruise, get a Diablo. |

The 360 is way too refined, way too quiet and too easy to drive. Exotics aren't for the "easy" drive. That's for your Toyota, aka, the daily driver. They should be challenging, throaty and a bit quirky. For driving 2,500 miles a year, go with the Diablo. Yes, they are cheaper to buy and will take longer to get rid of at resale time, but if you want a more exotic, sexier and sleeker machine, the Diablo gets my vote. Especially the 98 and 99 model years. And the performance don't suck either. |

Like so many have said before, the Lambo is aggressive and IMHO less attractive looking than the 360 (in silver or yellow). It is a shape that is begining to look old. Plus difficult to drive, poor visibility and a pain in the a-- to get in and out of with those doors. I don't like the premiums you guys are paying in the US for 360's though. Ernesto, didn't you once say you would have much rather had the Diablo than your 360?!!! Why the change of heart? |

As a huge Toyota fan, that is the biggest compliment anyone can give my 360! Thanks!! Ferrari could do well in emulating the Japanese in some areas of their cars! Still better than those unfortunate now-defunct cheese graters we had to bear with in the 80's and ealy 90's. Like I said, if your main goal in owning an Italian exotic is to attract attention, then get a Diablo. I've raced a Diablo in my 360, its not that much faster on straights. BTW, the erogonomics on the Diablo are just horrible. |

Rick, I would not pay more than $ 110,000 for the car. Well but then I would rather buy a 92 for around $ 90,000 with likely the same mileage. Actually I would wait another few months and see what the new Migulucicallaniego (whatever the name is) does to the prices. I am sure that there will be tons of trade ins and a Diablo is not what you want on the showroom floor. As I said I know a dealer that has a 98 for less than $ 150,000. That should be your level. The 1992s you can buy below $ 100,000. Make sure you understand the difference. The Lambo will beat the 360 on the straights hands down. In the corners you will need lots of driving style. William has put it right last saturday. Some of the Lambo drivers should have bought a car for $ 100,000 and invested the other $100,000 into driving school. The looks of the car are just phenomenal. Compared to the 360s japanese Toyota Lookalike! (boy I will hear it for this..) |

Get a 360 in black, red, or silver, oh boy just get silver. 6-speed manual. Modena. |

I see this choice a lot lately so I've thought about it quite a bit. They're entirely different cars. A very affluent guy that lives near Modena that I know who has driven them both and relates them as the Ferrari being the tightest, quickest car around, whereas the Diablo is like driving around in a space ship. I guess it depends a lot on what you want as well as the price. They are very different, moreso than a 308 compared to a Testarossa to give an idea in Ferrari terms. |

If all you will drive is 2500 or less a year, Diablo and save the $$. If you're serious about reliable driving fun..360. |

Hands down, the 360! However, this would depend on how much of a premium your paying. But, if I had to pick one today, it would be the 360! |

Like Mark said: If you want a 100% status symbol car that attract attention, get the Diablo. If you want a real driveable car that is not all about wings, scoops, and flip up doors, get the 360. Ernesto |

Martin: How much should a 94 Diablo Black/Cream with 8K miles go for wholesale? a Lambo dealer in N.J has this car for the last 7 months. |

The Diablo had a major upgrade in 94 Then I heard it also had another up-grade a few years later with speed adjustable electronic ride height. For low speed traffic and getting over speed bumps and up drive ways. Not sure what year they added this feature? |

Mark, I though that was what owning these cars was all about As with a Ferrari you are better of putting miles on the Lambo. They are just a pain in the you know what to drive in the city. Very low, very little visibility. Have you ever seen a Lambo drive backwards? You have to open the door, sit on the door sill with one hand on the steering and both feed taking clutch and gas. That is a spectacle for others to watch. Still a great car. |

You also have to consider the stealth factor. If you want to see what it feels like to be a movie star get the Lambo. If you want to blend in a bit with your exotic, get the 360. A crowd will gather every time you park the Diablo |

Martin: When you said Lambo's are not for daily driving. Are they good for 2500 miles per year or do they break down often. |
Martin (Miami348ts)
| Posted on Wednesday, February 06, 2002 - 5:36 pm: | |
Both are great cars. The Lambo is much more agressive and exotic than the smooth 360. Do you want to drive a lot then 360, do you want to have a great looking car with loads of HP, then Diablo. Do you want an investment wher eit counts on how fast you can resell, get a Volkswagen Jetta. 1992 Diablo $ 95,000 1998 Diable $ 160,000 I think I can get you a silver Diablo for $ 150,000, 1998 with low miles. Really is a preference of how much you drive. I love Diablos. Great looking cars with excess HP. Not for everyday driving though. |

Sorry Rick! I'd go for the 360 if it were me. It would be easier to find people to work on it, and I have to believe there are more Ferrari buyers around at resell time. |
