This is not normal for the F1 car to do in redline. You should take it in and have it checked. Ernesto |

I was driving the car and the "-" symbol came up on the gear shift display. Then the F1 Gear Box Symbol came up in Red. The "-" remained, until I put the car in neutral, then it seemed to reset itself to normal. This only happens when the car is close to redline and I shift. In all other situations, I never get the "-" symbol or the F1 Gear Box in Red symbol. The car is driving normal now, should I take it in to have the dealer look at the gear box. Or is this normal for F1 to do this near redline? |

Was this happening while the car was moving? Have you heard the infamous clutch bip bip alarm? What was the oil and water temperature? I don't think you should worry about heat unless the oil or water is too hot. ACW |

Can't answer your question but if your engine compartment temp is that hot when you stop you should probably be doing some cooldown running, run it on the highway at normal speed for a few miles or something.. |

I was driving my 2000 360 Modena today (4,600 Miles) and the "-" symbol came up on the gear shift display. The car wouldn't go into gear, so I put it in neutral and then everything was fine. I drove home about 10 miles and everything was or seems fine now. I was driving the car pretty hard, would that cause the gear box to fail like that? When I got out and checked the engine temperature in the engine compartment, it was very very hot. Should I follow up with the dealer, and get it checked out? Everything seems to be working fine. Thanks for the help. |
