Yeah the 512M has those ugly wheels, too frilly for me & the round tail lights dont flow well with the design, I prefer the front bumper on the 512TR, The headlights & the front hood on the M r pretty cool though |

There is no doubt that the 512TR is the best looking. I've noticed that no one has ever made a peep about the F512M. Forza did a write-up in this last issue (or previous to that) saying it is the best out of all the boxer's. Just can't warm-up to the slapped-on body mods. |

The 355 is a fine small Ferrari. But I just cant understand why it costs as much or more than a 512TR. The 512TR may be a little more expensive to maintain but on the + side its a lot more exclusive & Ive seen them for like $85k, WTF?!?! Theyre giving these things away. I think in another 10 years 512TRs will be up considerably whereas 355 will be up a smaller amount The 512TR corrected a lot of the Testarossas shortcomings but I think a lot of people just think its a cosmetically changed TR, Ive run against earlier TRs & the 512TR annihilates them. Also some early TRs had problems with the interior fit & finish which I think the 512TR also addressed |

I'm still getting used to my Big Bird on the track, at Lime Rock my 308QV might beat the 512TR through big bend & up to the bottom of the hill through the twisties but when u get to the straights its 512 all the way |

If you've ever had a sports car before and you are familiar with the performance, get a 512. I was just looking at some more pictures of them, they're amazing. What a car. For the most part I am a red Ferrari only type of guy, but I must say that the 512 is very classy in black (most of the 4 and 5 series Ferraris look good in black or silver too). If you want an awesome car get a red or a black 512TR. If you want an everyday (although I think the 512 could pull this off if you are dedicated) Ferrari, get a 355. There is a black 512 on ebay right now. It's kind of like the 512 is more work but more rewarding, the 355 is less work but lacks some of the edge that the 512 has. This is such a hard question really, it's like apples and oranges. There both awesome cars, the 355 is a light car that is made to be nimble, the 512 is a flat out accelerator that turns well for its size. |

Yeah the 512 is going to give you more thrills in an everyday ride and it is going to turn more heads. The 355 is newer though and is more common so maintenance and availablity of parts are both in its favor (William could tell you about the 512 maintenance since I don't know much other than it's going to be more than a 355's because it's a 12 cylinder and older). For me, I would get a 355GTS, but only because it is the first Ferrari that I can remember being introduced and I love its racer-boy look. The 512 is probably better though. The 512 strikes me as more as a dedicated Ferraristi whereas the 355 is more of a "hey look, I've got a lot of money so I got an Italian exotic" car. Also, the 512 is a little bit too much for me at this point (so this affects my opinion). Even though I've been racing and driving almost everything since I was little, I've only been licensed to drive on public roads for a year and I would rather take my steps up to a car of that caliber, what would I have to look forward to when I'm older. For you, a 512 might be just what you need. They both are pretty close in price now, there are some really good deals on 355s though since the 360 just came out, the 512 will hold its value better. |

Hi Leo, i have a 92 & a 93 512TR. The 92 I am restoring to use as a race car only with a Koenig body kit. The 512TR is a great car & u get a great looking 12 for less than a 355. When the 512TR came out Ferrari called it 2/3 of an F40. In a straight line, 0-60, 0-100, 0-200, the 512TR will slaughter a 355. I use mine on the track & I play tag with 355 Challenge cars, I gobble them up on the straights & they get me in the braking zones & corners cus the Challenge cars weigh a lot less. I plan on upgrading my brakes to F50 The 12 with the tubi & no cats sounds unbelievable. they r also more rare than the 355 & u wont be sorry, its a fantastic car |
