I'm told that they are different, and that the 355 attachment change wasn't for the better. They tend to leak, while the 348 didn't.

Actually Martin, I'm in L.A., so I can't.
Asking a dealer might be interesting--last week I saw 355 GTS at Orange County so that's half the equation, I don't remember a 348 though, maybe I'll call. But, neither of the dealers seemed too encouraging to help figure the problem though, so I'm kinda hesitant about that.
As I said earlier, if perhaps anyone also might know of potential sources for tops, I'd appreciate the help. |

Not trying to be preachy, but the 355 shares only two panels with the 348 (If I remember right, the upper door panels). While many panels are very similar, almost none are interchangeable.
I know the roof seal kit from a 355 fits the 348 with slight modifications (to the 348), so there's at least a reasonable chance the tops are interchangeable. |

I know that most of the 348 and 355 body panels are the same. |

can you find somebody in your area to make the swap test?
Maybe even a dealer?
If you are close to miami comes here. I have two 348s you can try.

I'm hoping you guys can help me resolve a dilemna I'm having. I am in the market for a top for my 95 F355 GTS. An authorized dealer gave me a price of about $3k for a new one with leather lining. Before I fork out the money, I decided that if I could find a good used/salvage top at a significantly lower price I'd go for it.
Recently, I found a dismantler who said he found a 355 top, but then later told me it was from a 348--and he insists that the 348 top is the same as/will fit the 355. He says that other than the liner design it is the same. I inquired a few different dealers in the area and they all say that the top is different/under a different part number and that it probably wont fit--but said though if it perhaps does, then I'm in luck.
I am wondering if the 348 top is the same as or will fit a 355 perfectly? Has anyone perhaps tried this, or maybe could try it if you have both or know someone you could swap with. I would appreciate any help immensely.
Or perhaps if you might know of a source where I might find a top for the F355 GTS. Thanks
