Hey Chris, I live about 40 minutes northwest of
Ferrari of Denver. Dave Helms worked on my 91 348.
Get back in touch for my phone numbers and depending on schedules let's see if we can go for dinner and a rip. Frank Bussi

From memory, but it was only Saturday last I picked it up and only Sunday when I went through all the toolkit and made sure all was present and v/light coating of vaseline on all steel bits so it wasn't difficult to remember.

My car was also supplied with a red tailored car cover but, although included in the sale to me, it is unavailable so a new one has been ordered by the vendor.

BTW, any tips on getting the hood carpet looking like new without resorting to replacing it would be well appreciated. You know the thing, it gets to look a bit threadbare where an item may have been sat but it isn't damaged per se. I thought maybe a black dye of some sort or maybe a marker pen....any ideas?

Also, are there concessions to concours such as CD multi-changers in the hood? Painted lower panels on a 348 when they should be original black?

I don't know how much time you've got, but I drove my Ferrari from Salt Lake to Denver last year and had a ball. If I were making your drive, I'd suggest you leave Denver on I-70 west. Take Highway 9 over Loveland pass, it's a great road. Stop in Silverthorne for gas then get on I-70 again. When you get to Copper Mountain, take Hwy 91 South towards Leadville for another pass. Before you get to Leadville, turn back west on Hwy 24 towards Minturn for Tenessee Pass. Tenessee pass is one of the most entertaining drives I've ever done. Lots of sharp corners. When you get through Minturn, you can get back on I-70 West and run the Glenwood Canyon. By the time you hit the Utah border, you will have been over 3 passes and through a canyon. It's a great drive. In Utah, you'll have an hour or 2 of boredom, but then turn north on State Hwy 6 to Price and you get another canyon run on the far side of Price. Total drive time Denver to Salt Lake should be about 8 or 9 hours. Spend the night at the downtown Hilton in Salt Lake and have a big steak at Spencers. It's right in the lobby so you can indulge on a nice bottle of wine before you sleep, and the parking garage has plenty of room to park your car. Have fun!

Insist on a car cover. A dealership should have some laying around even if they don't have one with your car.

When I purchased my 348(used) from Ferrari of SF, it came with a red Ferrari car cover. It wouldnt hurt to ask for a car cover.

For my Yellow with Black interior 348TS the bits n bobs were as follows:

Toolkit in the form of a hard leather case (mine is tan coloured with gold handle mounts and strap eyes) stored in the hood. The Euro version contains a spare PIRELLI scripted alternator belt, an alloy towing eye, two black plastic handled F scripted screwdrivers (one flat blade/one cross), a pair of blackened steel pliers with side cutting capability with red dipped insulation on the handles and F script, all this on the upper main tray. Four spare fuses, one of each common rating, several bulbs (5 from memory 2 halogen, 3 normal of which one is dual filament) on a side tray. Black Agip/Ferrari logo'd bottle for repair/inflation in a Black Ferrari/Agip logo'd quilt patterned vinyl pouch. Then several open ended combo spanners (5 or 6 can't remember for sure), a spark plug socket, a universal joint, a small ratchet, a short extension bar all on a lower tray.

In the glovebox there should be a real cheapo tacky plastic wallet/pouch, containing a torch with very long lead and power plug (for whats commonly called cigarette lighter socket) on the other end.

To protect the roof (targa) panel when not in use there is a vinyl cover with two F logo'd plastic toggles. To protect it when not in use this cover itself has a (zippered) vinyl wallet/pouch to store it in.

If the car was supplied with no audio there may also be a cheap vinyl covered hardboard cover with two spring retention clips for blanking the aperture. This cover goes under the dashboard proper hinged audio system lid/flap.

There are two keys, each with black plastic F logo'd hinged ends, a small holed label with the key number on it. Alarms are aftermarket in any case and therefore variable in supplied items, depends on make but they usually have two plips.

Not sure if standard or option but mine has a pair of tailored floor mats, each leather edged with rubber ribbed panels and small F logo's moulded into the corner of the rubber panel.

(suprisingly) There are no locking wheel nuts so no need to worry about a special socket.

The documents wallet (again I'm talking Euro, US may differ) is soft leather embossed with the F logo (mine is tan coloured). The wallet should at least contain the yellow service/warranty booklet and the remarkably concise yellow owners booklet. There may also be a yellow covered world dealer network pamphlet. Mine also has a red owners club pamphlet with inserts.

Petrol (sorry Gas!) filler aperture should have a rubber (or some synthetic?) protector flap that you can pull out to protect the paint, these I guess may be damaged or missing in some less well treated cars.

You should have a tool kit with the bottle for the tire inflation. This comes in a AGIP black cover.
Your books should have the regular manual which schould state it is a 1992 Model and the service manual, which should have stamps in them and the delivery date and the original owner Make sure to get all keys 2 at least, if there is an alarm, get the manual for that and the clickers.
There is a cover for the TS top that will protect the top while stored behind the seat. This will clip to the back firewall.

Enjoy the car. I just got a 348TS for sale. Great cars.

I will be flying down to Denver on 06/10/02 to pick up a `92 Ferrari 348ts from Ferrari of Denver. This is my second Ferrari, however the first one that runs (long story). If anyone is interested, maybe we can get together for dinner before I drive it back up to Idaho.
Also, any last minute pointers on what should come with the car (i.e., books, toolkit, etc.)
