After 6 months of readjusting for running foul, backfiring and the "aroma of gasoline", I had an electronic ignition installed. This ran for about 25 miles, before it totally fried my wires. They had to come and pick me up from WWoC. They showed up in a 456A and tried to fix it at the spot, but that did not work. Steve Arena drove my car and I finally got to see my car in action. The Daytona looks soo good on the road. The 456 was as "boring" as I expected, everuthing is too good and works too well (I was happy with the airco though, compared to the 365 it is 100 times better) One week later and with a new wiring system the car is really fantastic. I drove this weekend 200 miles and loved it. Gone are the warm start problems, the fouling, the aroma etc. The car runs now better than new. My dream car is the Daytona |

LOL Good for you WIlliam I love the NART Daytona. I remember seeing Paul Newman at Road Atlanta at the unveiling of the new Panoz. I walked up to him and said "any man that drives a 365 GTB4 the way it's meant to - has my respect" He smiled and thanked me and I just about melted (his blue eyes are amazing) How about that for a dream - in the Daytona with Paul Newman...........(sigh) |

Yes Dave, but if I get sick of you - you are NOT that easy to sell......and I'm sure you'd need more than gas, tires and oil to keep you happy |

The Daytona has to be my favorite. I appreciate em all but driving the 550 is just not the same, to me it is the perfect car. |

Nika, I saw my first 550 Barchetta last week, and guess what, it was yellow! Personally, not my favorite color, but that car had my drooling, too. Compared to my TR, the 550 Barchetta seemed big (and I always thought my TR was big enough), but the lines where beautiful. The clowns were asking $440K for it, would you believe that? I guess I am not into limited production car kind of numbers. |

The first Ferrari I saw in person was a yellow Daytona just like the one in Nika's pictures. The sight and sounds of that car were etched in my head permanantly. Nika, you should just sell the 308 and get a Daytona. Better yet, buy THAT Daytona! |

Yes -received my first EVER speeding ticket in a 550 *sigh*. The 550 was more refined - handled better and still had the torque. The clutch on the 550 was easier. It did not however have the same sound of the Daytona. The Daytona was hot, loud and with a light aroma of fuel........But I loved EVERY minute behind the wheel. |

Nika: just curious (not yellow)... have you ever driven a 550, and if so, how did it compare with the Daytona? Love the older car, but not willing to put up with older car issues, if you get what i mean... |

Heaven!!! Here's a pix of the car with my drooooool all over it. I'm not sure which rims I prefer on the car though. This baby had larger wheels in the back - from a 512BB.
LOL - I was waiting for the Yellow comment!!! What can I say - this is my DREAM CAR!!! |

Well this past weekend I had a chance to drive my favorite Ferrari - the 365GTB4. I have loved this car for years and have a shrine devoted to it. My neighbor and his friend (shown) also had a chance to feel the 12 under the hood. The "throw you back into your seat" torque was amazing - only traffic was the big downside of the day. You can't be gentle when driving the car or it seems to foul.....After taking it for a test drive I was completely speechless for the next hour - a rarity if you know me!!! |
