Rob..
Just checked my policy again with Progressive and I'm paying $490 per year unlimited miles. You may want to check them out. You will need to call since their web site quote engine doesn't include Ferrari

I think I'm paying about $1,000 a year with Geico for my '86 328. That's full coverage with unlimited miles, and a few raised limits. I also added uninsured for these Texas drivers.

Does this sound reasonable?

I've always used USAA insurance for both auto and home. Not sure if you're able to qualify for them. Anyhow I pay $1100 a year, I'm 28 and have a 348. Mileage for that is 5 - 7k per year. I also have a $0 deductible. They've always been great handling claims (none yet for the 348). Try looking at there website: http://www.usaa.com. Goodluck

Ps. It's always good to have a clean record.

Here in B.C., Canada, there is one company that handles insurance and licencing for vehicles. They have a Collector Car program which certain cars qualify and you adhere to certain rules. Mileage is unlimited and it is for a full year, but you are not allowed to drive it to work and/or school. You must have another car fully insured for that purpose. The cost is a big difference! My '75 GT4 (which qualifies) costs me $525 a year ($2 million third party liability, collision, comprehensive, etc), My '88 piece-of-s**t Colt costs me $1000! and is not as extensive as the Ferrari's policy!
What qualifies a car?: It must be 25 years and older. Or 15 years and older but no more than 1500 made in that year. Or 5 years and older if that company has ceased making cars altogether.
Cars must be original and unmodified. They also must be in excellent shape.
The best part: Collector Cars are exempt from "Aircare" pollution testing.

When I bought my 328GTS I searched all over for good insurance. What I found was that the companies like Grundy( and others) that tell you they are for "classic/collectible" vehicles didn't fit my needs. They require extremely limited milage and conditions that require you to use your "regular" vehicle for most instances. Maybe this works fine if you have a classic that you only use for shows and parades.... The good point was the "declared" replacement value that they wouldn't dispute.
I found that Progressive Insurance best served my needs. I can drive my car when I want and for whatever reason I want and as much as I want. My cost per year is less than $1000.00 to do this. They are on the FCA recommended list as "Ferrari Friendly" and I can testify to that. They were VERY helpful in setting up my policy.

I noticed that some companies place very strict restrictions on the use and ownership of a Ferrari. Are there any companies that offer good rates and no more restrictions than any other car?

Also, any experience collecting insurance claims with any of these companies?
