Jack,

What? Me? Excited? Of course i am! Have worked VERY hard for over 15 years to achieve my very first "real" car. First it was the 328 i wished for, then the TR.... then the 360 as the years went by because the 355 never thrilled me. Now when the Maser came out there were years of personal maturity achieved and more automotive technology to support hardware. Technology is neither good nor bad per se. It just is. Sure we can debate F1 and how it is "overly" technology over driver, though in the end it is all a "system". A great car with bad driver will lose to a great driver with a less than stellar "system/car" (we should hope).

In the end we each have our preference in life... and the Masser had so much going for it according to my desires. Of course in the end what REALLY matters is that we all...

Enjoy The Ride,

C'mon Steven. Would you please try and get just a little excited! Seriously, it's always fun to see somebody getting their toy. I guess cars are to us like babies are to women. There's the point of conception, waiting for the delivery, fixing up the "nursery", and finally the pictures of your brand new baby to show everyone. Hmmm, seems like your friends should be throwing you a shower...

Floyd,

>>>When you did a test drive, did you notice the change in exhaust sound when you go from 'normal' to 'sport' mode? hehe<<<

Alas, was not paying THAT close attention, though as i drove 95% of the test drive in Sports mode, it did sound nice, deep and a bit throaty... if a tad muted. Not like the halcyon days of Ferrari when they could scream all they wanted to... legally. Darn emissions and noise ordnances :-(

Still, it DID have a nice, deep growl :-)

Enjoy Your Drive,

Everyone,

WOW, thanks for the support. Is there a Ferrari/Maser 12 step group ;-) . Ok, saw the car today.

The Coup they had today was in mostly in my color choices from a month ago (sight unseen on an actual car). Well, i am sooo glad i waited to see it on a car as the medium brown leather is not to my liking. WAS going to do med brown with one shade darker piping. Have changed that to the lightest brown/creme and next shade darker piping (see photo). Those of you with the catalog can see my color choice near the back with the left page that begins in bold word "LIFE ON BOARD". Will go with black dash and doors (not dark brown as in catalog photo) as the car paint will be metallic black. Image here is a "Photoshopped" version of the catalog to change the dark brown dash and rear to black.

After reading various posts here, went for the "Paint Protection System" (clear film that covers the front bumper and 1/2 hood and also rear truck pieces). Lots of other "extras" ordered as well :-) . Leaving the Calipers stock as they are black as standard. My point is to be as "hidden/stealth" as possible from vandals and from, er, um, "Imperial Entanglements". i have bought too many "blue light specials" on the side of highways :-( .

Now the real fun, driving :-)

Test drove the Spyder about a month ago. Nice, but... (please read on).

Driving impressions between the Spyder and the Coupe? DISCLAIMER, this is ONLY via test driving and NOT on the same day.

The Spyder is amazing. The only drawback is road noise and cowl. It seems a tad skittish and, for some reason, felt "heavy" when driving. Was sure footed, but felt a tad unsure during bumps at times (maybe it was just the cowl/shake fooling my senses?). Still, an amazing car and more fun than TWO barrels of monkeys :-)

As for the Coupe... No contest! The rigidity and solidity of the drive sold me on the spot over the Spyder. Not only that, it seemed more glued to the road. Not sure if this makes sense (and i know the Coupe is 8 inches longer and 150 lbs lighter), but with the Spyder i found turning the Sport mode OFF made the car feel more stable while on the Coupe the normal mode was not to my liking. Too soft feeling. The Sport mode ON was an obvious choice for the Coupe IMHO. Don't want my Maser to feel like a bloody Lexus. When my parents visit and ride in the car they can feel like they are in their Lexus in Normal mode, but when it is just my father and i... heh heh... Sport mode al the way :-)

Yes, i bought the Coup today... and yes Jack, the next five month will be a living heck :-(

But daddy i want an Oompah Loompah NOW!

Enjoy You Ride,

Steven R. Rochlin

Congratulations, Steven. Few things are more exciting. I, too, prefer the Coupe for the Maser. In the meantime, we'll help you get through these next long, excrutiating months.

Very nice. Congratulations, Steven. You're going to love it. When you did a test drive, did you notice the change in exhaust sound when you go from 'normal' to 'sport' mode? hehe.

Bill,

About five months until delivery (but i might pull some strings). Will photo the car they have as it is 90% what i want... but in flat black (want metallic back) and no GPS or better sound system. Was offered to buy that one, but i NEED GPS (don't ask, work related :-( ). Will post the photos here tomorrow :-)

Enjoy The Ride,

Cool Steven, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about it. How long before delivery? What color combination and options?

Hi Everyone,

Been lurking here (with an occasional post) for a long time now. Ok, well, not getting a "Ferrari"... or am i? Today is the day for the payment... to get the Maserati Coup on order. Of course she won't arrive for a few months, though it took MANY years to get to this point (sweat equity). Considered the TR, 328, etc., though the new Maser seems to offer sooo much that i prefer for the $$. Personal preference and all.

Test drove the Spyder and liked it. A bit of shake, though the Coupe should solve this due to a much more rigid structure. Off ramps at 70mph like before and we'll see what she can do all around :-) . If i like it (99 44/100%), then there goes my down payment as i "stand" in line for this beauty. Wish me luck... at 12pm today!

Enjoy Your Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin
