I am sorry that I had to contribute to the censorship on this board but I have two traits, integrity and a temper. Challenge one and you will get the other.

guys i remember oberg oil filters did that. i believe nascar was using them. you only had to clean the screen. man, i wish i had an engine that could redline for hours at 17,000rpm on 5w synthetic.

Thanks Peter, that makes sense. Also I should correct my spelling it's CHENEY.

The only thing close to that that I've heard is using castor oil. Just change the filter and top it up a bit, that's it. It was used mainly for military fleets. I think, any one correct me if I'm wrong.

Magoo, the computer can't recognise a person's name from a guy's dink. This was installed after a few incidences before where Ferrarichat turned into an online Soprano's.

How come I can't use •••• Chaney's first name. Are we being censored? MAGOO

HEY GUYS, as long as gov't officials like George Bush&Chaney are in office you don't have to worry about getting rid of the internal combustion engine. Both of them are "OIL" all the way. By the way, Does oil wear out? At one time there was talk of oil filters for automotive use that would remove acids and other wastes from engine oil and keep it pure enough to continue using it in the engine, only adding oil when needed, and perodic cleaning of the filter. Probably too expensive to manufacture. What happened? Then again if it were mass produced what would be the cost? Think of how much oil would be saved? Our technology is so great I am sure this would be a reality today if the oil companies wanted it to be. Comments. Just a thought. MAGOO

Ever see that movie Mission to Mars, it was alright, nothing special, but Peter and William raise a good point, it would have been a lot better had there been some Ferraris in it. Basically any movie you can think of, would be better if they threw in some Ferraris, they are the universal problem solver (or maybe creator now that I think of all those times working on it, hmmm). Magnum, P.I. is possibly the greatest show ever, why? you might ask, because it has a great plot and scene, but the Ferrari doesn't hurt.

There you go Bret, we can colonize Mars and have a free run to drive however fast you want! Just our luck though, that they'll set up speed traps up there too.L

Sorry, but even if crude would go up to $XXX a barrel, I would still pay anything to keep my 10mpg car on the road.

Arnaldo, on the + side, in about 100 years or so when the knuckleheads in DC or UN or wherever decide to get serious about colonizing Mars a big dirty internal combustion engine spewing out tons of CFC will be exactly what they will need to heat up the planet to make it livable, so Maybe some Ferraris & musclecars may 1 day be tearing up roads on Mars, doing their part towards Global Warming :)

My theory is that you will being "playing" the V12 sound thru the speaker/exhaust sound system...

All this sounds interesting, but I am just thinking about my children's children,s children's not been able to feel the rumble and hear the noise of this wonderful engines because theirs are electric. I am sure cars will be better in ways we are yet to imagine, but these things that we take now for granted, things that drive our adrenaline up from simply hearing or revving an engine will possibly be forgotten and be could even be consider primitive by their terms.

Kristoffer, NASA & the US dept of Energy studied this back in the 70s & it was impossible then but with todays technology the energy would probably be channeled down as microwave energy. Motorola may be working on something like this.
Remember Nikola Tesla had the idea to supply the world with free wireless electricity before 1900 :)

William - How on earth would it be possible to beam that energy to those satellite dishes you had in mind? Seems pretty impossible to me. But yes, electric power in cars will be huge in a near future. Its all about keeping those batteries down in weight and stamina...

on the other hand I think that by the end of the 21st C the gasoline engine may be dead. Some 3rd world nations who cant afford as much oil as us r already looking for other sources of energy. China & India may be the first to really exploit solar power in a big way. The correct way to generate solar energy is to have giant solar collecting stations in orbit, where there is no night, rain, clouds or dust, & beam that energy back down to giant recieving dishes. As oil prices keep rising the cost of doing this may become more reasonable. Once these r in place its only a matter of time until gas engines r replaced cus electric power will be So cheap that only the very wealthy will be able to buy oil

Yes I saw the car, its sort of fugly. so it beats the 550 0-60. How about lap times, top speed, 0-100, 0-150 ? & its still fugly :)

75 308 GT4 (Peter) - And the 550 does sure sound better too :)

When the 550 came to sweden some of the motor journalists thought that it didn´t sound good.
But the 550:s I´ve seen in traffic have sounded superb. I´m wondering if the owners of the 550´s I´ve encountered have switched the silencer? Anyone knows? Perhaps the journalists were full of ••••...

If there ever is an electric Ferrari I will just give up hope in mankind. It's those damn yuppies, they'll be the ones trying to make us drive those things.

Yeah right. I get five 360 modenas for the same price as one of those. And a top speed of 145 km/h??? But I must admit that its impressive numbers for an electric car. 0-100 on 4.1 sec....

I love the environment as much as the next guy, but an electric car beating a 550 Maranello is insane. Check out the news at: http://cooltech.iafrica.com/technews/236670.htm
