Hello Boys, There are only a few things in this world that I would consider myself an expert in, and this is one of them. I imported and converted my first Eurospec car into America in 1978, it was a beautiful red/tan 246gt Dino. Since then I have converted 100s of cars, and for those interested in importing or being assisted in the purchase, importation, conversion of Ferrari cars, and saving some money, please let me know I could be of valuable assistance. On a similar note, it is my opinion that any late model F355 or 360 model Ferrari is pretty damn much a world car, very very little needs to be done to these cars, even though the cost of a US Spec conversion is still highway robbery. Therefore if a US spec car was to be compared on a value basis vs. a Euro spec car, and lets say both of them were without warranty, the cars should be of equal value. I would enjoy your comments on this matter. Thanks for the Forum, Thomas Schuesler |

We bought a 308 GTS QV in 7/2000. It was imported here and the car came with 6" of paperwork on the import. Originally, it wasn't converted to all specs correctly, wasn't cleared for almost a year, including a lawsuit from owner. The owner posted a $25K bond, which he almost lost. Are you considering doing this yourself? Hank Rice |

There are several companies out there who convert euro cars. Check with Amerispec or contact Gerald Rousch at The Ferari Market Letter. www.ferrarimarketletter.com |

I have a 308QV that was converted and imported legally in 1984. It was done by a guy named Ron Spangler from Maryland. He is well known for importing Ferraris (at least in the 1980's if not the 90's as well) I know he is still very involved in the Ferrari world because I see his name in various publications. I believe he is still somewhere in Maryland and he owned a business called the Prancing Horse Farm for many years. This is where he did the conversions. If you can find him, he might be able to educate you or offer the service. |
