I was having trouble loading those pictures, I attribute it to the inclement weather here (cold rain). The car looks like it would be pretty fast, but aesthetically it could use some work, especially the rear end. It's pretty cool looking though and who wouldn't want those statistics.

A first look at the new F60. This car is expected to take the crown from the Mclaren F1 as the fastest production car in the world. Rumored to have a 650 HP V-12, the F60 will have a 0-60 of 3.0 and top speed of 230 MPH.

i agree with all you gentlemen, that the 0-100 time is unbelievable. you never know, maybe ferrari could do the unexpected.
whatever happens, the F-60 is sure to be one of the finest automobiles ever made.

I read that same article, it's on some website that I found be searching Ferrari F60 on altavista. Yeah it is referring to kph, if only it was mph though. The F60 should be in the sub 3.5 second range though. Those really long drag racers (I can't think of the name, my brain is falling apart I think) go 0-60 in like .8 secs, and 0-100 in like 1.3 secs. That's insane. They had an article about it in Road&Track like a year ago. The F1 car did 0-60 in 2.1 secs.

Me thinks that maybe this 0-to-100 in 4 seconds or less might refer to KM/h = 0 - 62.5 mph in the same time frame. To me that sounds a bit more realistic, but still fast as all heck. Remember that the USA is one of the last to use MPH and the place where they will be making/testing the F60 ain't in the USA.

"... the factory expects 0-100 times of four seconds or less." Those be some lofty expectations (or a misprint?). Hope the rest of the stuff is legit, though. Especially the 2425 pounds part. Sounds like it's going to be a good one.

can by this article and thought it was interesting.

Ferrari knows its next supercar must be faster, more daring, and even more outrageous than the F40 and F50, which is a pretty tall order. Known within Maranello as Project FX, the still-secret supercar -- even the F60 name is a matter of conjecture -- won't be available until the spring of 2002, at a price rumored to be somewhere in the heart-clutching region of a half-million dollars. The production run is expected to be fewer than 500 cars, but more than the 349 F50s that were built.
Security on the project is exceptionally tight, and our sources tell us only that the new car is being styled by Pininfarina and is to be powered by an all-new naturally aspirated aluminum V-12 of about 6.0 liters. With variable valve timing on all four camshafts, output expectations range between 600 and 650 hp. As with its predecessors, the engine will ride amidships in an aluminum-and-composite-intensive chassis loosely based on the architecture of the 360 Modena. Other weight-saving, performance-enhancing measures include carbon-fiber brakes, and the aim is to keep the curb weight to 2425 pounds.
Ferrari's top-speed goal for the new car exceeds 200 mph, but only just, owing to aerodynamic considerations. However, with more than 600 horses propelling a high-tech automobile that weighs less than a Dodge Neon, the factory expects 0-to-100 times of four seconds or less.
